The manufacturer's guide is roughly 3kg of powder to 1.5 litres of water. Mix only what you can use within the working life, and never mix or re-work adhesive once it has begun to set or dry. For plasterboard, apply daubs of about 50mm diameter that stand out at least 15mm from the wall. Keep daubs no more than 450mm apart horizontally and vertically, and keep them about 50mm in from sheet ends and edges. You can apply daubs to either the wall or the back of the sheet. Position the board and hold it in place until the adhesive sets. Use levelling pads where wall irregularities exceed 15mm.
