Remove the lid and stir the compound to a smooth consistency, using clean containers and tools.\u003cbr\u003e2. Measure and cut the cornice lengths to size using a saw and mitre box or a mitre guide.\u003cbr\u003e3. Apply generous beads (about 10mm) to the back of the cornice along the top and bottom edges, and to the mitres. A stud adhesive applicator or a small broadknife works well.\u003cbr\u003e4. Press each section into place, then finish the joints and mitres.\u003cbr\u003e5. Put the lid back on straight away when you are not using it.
