Cut the end of the sausage, load it into a sausage-style applicator gun and extrude the sealant so it makes full contact with both sides of the joint, avoiding trapped air. Tool the surface smooth with a spatula before a skin forms. Once cured, it can be painted. Do not apply when the air or surface temperature is below 5°C. Not suitable for permanent water immersion or below water line use. Not intended for structural applications or general glazing. Avoid alcohol and solvent cleaners on the sealant while it cures, as they can interfere with the cure. Very damp substrates can cause bubbling in the sealant. It may affect the drying of oil or alkyd based paints, so test paint compatibility first. White sealant can yellow slightly with age and sun exposure. Store unopened sausages below 30°C in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, where they keep for around 12 months from manufacture.
