Cut the cartridge seal and nozzle to suit the width of the gap, fit the nozzle and load the cartridge into a caulking gun. Force the filler well into the gap, then press it in and smooth it off with a spatula, taking care not to drag filler back out of the joint. Scrape surplus filler off the timber surface with the spatula to cut down on sanding later, and wipe up any smears straight away with a damp cloth. Allow the filler to cure fully before sanding, staining, varnishing or painting.
