It grips well to a wide range of building surfaces and sets hard in around 20 minutes, with minimal shrinkage, so you can shape it, sand it and move on to painting quickly. Stir the bog before use, then work out a short ribbon of hardener (about 2.5cm for every heaped tablespoon, or roughly 20g, of bog) and mix thoroughly on a clean surface until the colour is even. Press the mix into the repair with a spatula and overfill slightly. For dents in steel or aluminium that will see heavy vibration, punching or drilling the metal first gives the filler a better key. Shape off the excess with a Surform or rasp before it goes rock hard, then use ordinary files or sandpaper once fully set. The filler is rigid, so it is not suited to joints or areas where movement is expected, nor to areas under constant water immersion. It will not bond to polyethylene, polypropylene or PTFE (Teflon). Colour must be added before the hardener.
