The aluminium face gives the tape its UV resistance. The butyl layer underneath is self-adhesive and is protected by a release liner until you are ready to stick it down. Sika describes it as having good adhesion at low temperatures, very good weather and UV resistance, and very good heat stability with no flow or oil migration. Sika recommends cleaning and pre-treating the substrate with Sika Aktivator-205 applied with a clean towel. Cut the tape to length, peel back the release liner and press the tape firmly onto the surface, working along its full length so it makes good contact.
