Shake bottle before use Apply adhesive liberally to one surface only, position surfaces and press together while still wet. Immediately clamp for 30 minutes for softwoods and 1 hour for hardwoods. Alternatively, low clamping pressures (50lbs/in2) can be used with softwoods; higher pressures are recommended for hardwoods (100 – 150lbs/in2). Do not stress joint for 12 hours. Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours, but longer in cold, damp conditions, or when used on dense timbers. Cure slows significantly in humid, cold conditions. Clean all tools with water before adhesive is allowed to dry. If dry, soak in water until adhesive is soft. Handy tips 1L covers approx. 8m2 To fill small gaps, Aquadhere can be mixed with sawdust. Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. The glue responds best to an air humidity level of 50-70 %. Surface requirements Surfaces to be glued must be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease, and must fit exactly. Preliminary surface treatment Any dust, oil, grease, wax or separating agent should be thoroughly removed from the surfaces to be stuck together. The best way to achieve this is to rub the parts a number of times with appropriate solvents, such as acetone (if suitable for the material – check first!). For metals and metal alloys it is usually sufficient to roughen the surface using emery paper or by grinding or brushing. DURING USE: Directions for use 1. To pierce the membrane, turn the cap clockwise firmly onto the tube. Tip: do not press the tube while piercing. 2. Unscrew the cap to reveal the applicator. Apply the adhesive directly from the tube, using the nozzle, as thinly as possible onto one side (too much glue slows down the curing process significantly). Press parts together immediately. After use, clean nozzle with a dry tissue and replace cap. Advice When glueing at low humidity, curing time can be shortened by briefly breathing onto one of the parts to be assembled. The best glueing results are reached at room temperature. Points of attention Contains cyanoacrylate. Bonds skin and eyelids together in seconds. If product comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, glue can be dissolved by soaking in warm soapy water. SikaBond is a high strength contact adhesive that will not slump on vertical surfaces. It can be used as a one way liquid adhesive, or a two way contact adhesive, on a variety of surfaces. Uses SikaBond can be used on most substrates due to its excellent adhesion. These include: Floor and wall panels. Wood, plasterboard and chipboard. Aluminium, iron and steel. Storage and Shelf Life Stored in the original sealed packaging at temperatures of between 5ºC and 35ºC, this material will keep for at least twelve (12) months. Instructions for Use Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of oil, grease and surface contamination. Thoroughly remove all loose particles and dust. Any loose flaking must be removed and light sanding is recommended. Application One Way Method: This method is recommended for heavier panels or where load or stress is expected. Apply a 4 to 6mm bead of SikaBond using a cartridge gun, making sure the beads are no more than 45cm apart. Bring both substrates immediately together and clamp, nail or screw for a minimum of 24 hours. For butt joints use adhesive on both panel edges. Two Way Method: Apply adhesive as in one way method, bring together substrates, and press firmly over entire surface to transfer adhesive. Then pull apart. Allow adhesive to tack off for 3 to 5 minutes depending on weather conditions, reposition the objects and press together firmly. The surfaces should be tapped together with a hammer and a padded block to ensure maximum contact. Maximum bond strength will be achieved in 12 to 72 hours, depending on substrates and weather. Heavy panels may require temporary mechanical fastening until maximum strength is achieved.

A gap must remain between them. Immediately after applying adhesive, place mirror against wall before adhesive skins (within 5 minutes) The weight must be supported and mirror must be held in place with temporary supports (e.g. with clips or tape) to hold and maintain adhesive contact over the total bond area until sufficient adhesive strength has developed. Do not seal around the edges of the mirror for at least a week to allow air circulation and aid the adhesive fully cure Mirrors should not be fixed directly to unpainted plaster, timber, concrete or brick walls. If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old flaky paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS KWIK STRIP SMART, and allow to dry. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Highly oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/ Course grain, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge. Cut the nozzle end to desired opening (approx. 5mm diameter). Fit to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of work which requires a caulking gun. Apply a bead of product along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. Clean any excess from your hands with SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, apply a bead of Liquid nails into the groove or each board when installing. Handy tips When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient LIQUID NAILS Original is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then insufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. (“zig-zag” beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust. Hold bottle in an upright position. Pierce seal by attaching nozzle and cap and turning clockwise. Remove cap and squeeze gently to apply a small amount of glue to one surface. Bring surfaces together and apply slight pressure. (30 seconds). The product grabs within 5-30 seconds, depending on environmental conditions and substrates to be bonded. Allow 30 minutes for sufficient bond strength for practical use. Maximum bond strength reached after 12 hours. Handy tips Cyanoacrylate adhesives can create a white residue on the surface of a substrate if the area is not well ventilated. Slowly twist fingers in opposite direction in hot soapy water. Acetone (nail polish remover) or Olive oil can also be used to remove Quick Fix from skin. While superglue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer. Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. Super glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. Safety tips Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour. Quick Fix is non-hazardous once cured. Where Quick Fix residues are on the skin, it is recommended that the skin be soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. Alternatively rub in hand cream or vegetable oil to accelerate the natural process of the skin sloughing off to remove the residue. Where immediate adhesive removal is considered necessary apply a solvent such as acetone (nail polish remover) then wash off with soapy water. Apply hand cream to replace naturals oils in skin. Do not use solvents near eyes or open wounds. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Non toxic when set. Storage and re-use After use, wipe excess product from nozzle with a tissue dipped in acetone (found in some nail polish removers). Reseal cap in a clockwise direction. Tap bottle lightly on a flat surface to clear excess product from nozzle. To remove excess from substrates, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of absorbant material (eg cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5 to 10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. TEST THE SURFACE IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using thias method. Ensure cap is replaced and store in a cool dry place. Cyanoacrylate based adhesives polymerise in the presence of moisture. Store Upright.
