Clear Flexible Fabric Glue A versatile, water-based fabric adhesive designed for clothing repairs, craft projects, and soft furnishings. It forms a strong, long-lasting, flexible bond on most porous fabrics and dries clear in thin films for a neat, professional finish. Once fully cured, the bond is machine washable, can be tumble dried, and is safe to iron. Initial handling: Light handling is typically possible after about 1 minute; avoid stressing the bond. Optional set boost: For improved bonding, gently iron-press ~5 minutes after gluing (use a pressing cloth). Full cure: Reaches full effective strength after 24 hours. After curing, the item may be machine washed, tumble dried, and ironed. Clean-Up While wet: Wipe away with warm, soapy water; repeat if needed, rinse and dry. When dry on smooth, non-porous surfaces: Gently rub off or use warm, soapy water. When dry on fabrics: Difficult to remove—prevent excess and work carefully. Compatibility & Notes Best on porous textiles: cotton, denim, linen, felt, leather, and similar materials. Not suitable for non-porous materials or 100% nylon/polyester fabrics. Hold sides together using a strong piece of tape across the tear to hold it tightly. Remove tape after 3 hours. Remove excess with a rubber eraser. Note: when thick layers are required it is better to apply a number of thin coats. Allow curing for 3 hours before handling. Full cure in 24 hours. Notes: Solvents may evaporate from bottle or tube if left open for prolonged periods. Not recommended for Teflon, Polyethylene or Polypropylene bonding. Avoid constant submergence in water and exposure to extremely high temperatures after cure. Storage: Store in a cool area away from sunlight or heat. Cut laminated plastic sheet slightly oversize all round. Completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry – no more than 40 minutes. Position the items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels or heavy craft paper and working from one edge press surfaces firmly together. Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or else by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. For bonding other materials, apply as for laminated plastics above. When small surface areas are to be joined a wet bond may be used. Simply apply Gel Grip to one surface then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some grades such as polystyrene and sheet vinyl. Use Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications. Keep container sealed when not in use. Coverage – up to 5 square metres/litre (bonded area 2.5 square metres/litre) depending on porosity of surfaces and thickness of applications For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap.
