Parfix Fast Grip Contact Adhesive Heat & Water Resistant 1L

Description

Parfix Fast Grip is a solvent-based, brush-on contact adhesive made for kitchen and bathroom jobs where heat and moisture are a concern, supplied here in a 1L pack. It grips firmly as soon as the two coated surfaces meet, so it suits laminates, veneers, trims and similar sheet work where you want a strong bond without long clamping.

About the formula
Fast Grip is a polychloroprene rubber contact adhesive in a tan-coloured liquid. The solvent carrier makes the product resistant to heat, water and many solvents once cured. It does not dry clear, so keep it off visible faces and wipe back any squeeze-out or drips before they dry. The product is applied with a brush and is classed by the manufacturer as a flammable liquid (see Safety below).

Where to use it
Indoors: kitchen and bathroom work such as laminate and veneer fixing, trims and panels, plus general repairs where a heat and moisture resistant bond is needed.
Outdoors: the supplied product information does not confirm exterior use, so check the pack or contact the manufacturer before using it on exposed work.

The manufacturer's safety data lists wood, hardboard, cork, rubber, leather, canvas, laminated plastics and metals as materials it is made to bond. Test a small hidden area first, especially on foam, vinyl or other plastics, because solvents can soften or mark some of them.

How to use it
Make sure all surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease. Stir or shake the contents if needed. Brush a thin, even coat onto both surfaces and let the solvent flash off until the film is ready for bonding, following the directions on the pack. Align the pieces carefully before they touch, because a contact bond grips on first contact and there is little chance to reposition. Press the surfaces together firmly, working across the whole area. A roller or hand pressure over the full surface helps. Reseal the tin tightly after use.

Important notes
Parfix Fast Grip is not a clear-drying glue. Do not apply it near naked flames, heaters or other ignition sources, and work only in a well-ventilated area. Always check the label for open time, cure time and clean-up directions, as these are not confirmed in our supplied data. For best results, store the tin sealed and away from heat.
