Uses Liquid Nails Fast has a high initial grab that reduces the need to support joins while the adhesive cures. The grab works best with porous surfaces. Veneers Rubber Cork Felt Leather Canvas Metals Timber How to use this product Use only in a well-ventilated area. Contact Bonding Hold down lid while opening can. Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. For porous surfaces, apply a thin coat to seal surface and allow to dry for approx. 40 minutes. Using an applicator, completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry (approx. 15 minutes, no more than 30 minutes). Position items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels. When edges are perfectly aligned, remove dowels and press surfaces firmly together from one edge to the other. Secure the bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or by hammering from the centre outwards using a padded block. Maximum bond strength is reached after 24 hours. Clamping may be necessary for warped or curled surfaces. Wet Bonding (for small areas or porous surfaces) Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Apply Kwik Grip to one surface, then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy Tips Test plastics before use as solvents may attack some polystyrene and sheet vinyls. 500mL covers up to 2.5m² of one surface, depending on porosity. For vertical surfaces use Selleys Kwik Grip Vertical Gel. For confined or low-ventilation areas, use Selleys Kwik Grip Waterbased, which is non-toxic and fume-free. Use a brush, knife, or serrated scraper for application. Bonding is immediate once the two surfaces are joined. Keep container sealed when not in use. Surface Preparation and Cleanup For porous surfaces, clean with Selleys Liquid Sugar Soap. For non-porous surfaces (e.g. glass or metal), clean with mineral turpentine followed by methylated spirits. For old paint or residue, use Selleys Kwik Strip Smart and ensure surface is dry before applying adhesive. While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. A toolbox must. Great on copper and iron. Here are just a few specific uses (there are hundreds of other uses): Seal cracked steam or hot water radiator Stop leaking steam fittings Fill hole in heat exchanger Attach thermocouple to hot surface Seal chimney ductwork How to prepare a surface for bonding with PC-Fahrenheit™ Remove contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil and grime with a solvent such as denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner. A mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper, wire brush or paint stripper. Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion. Adhesion to wet or damp surfaces can be improved by wiping with alcohol. Do not use mineral spirits or paint thinner for removing contaminants. How to clean-up after PC-Fahrenheit™ application We recommend wearing disposable gloves when mixing and applying epoxy putty. Remove from skin with soap and warm water. Clean up mixed epoxy before it cures with paper towels and solvent. Denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner are suitable solvents for removing uncured epoxy. Mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper, wire brush or paint stripper. Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion. Adhesion to wet or damp surfaces can be improved by wiping with alcohol. For low-energy plastics such as PE, PP or PTFE, apply Loxeal Primer 7 first and let it dry. Apply the adhesive sparingly to one surface, then bring the parts together quickly and correctly aligned – the fast cure leaves little room for repositioning. Press firmly for a few seconds until fixed, and keep parts clamped until fully set. Wait 24–72 hours for full cure before applying any mechanical stress. After use, wipe excess product from the nozzle with a tissue dipped in nail polish remover. While supa glue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24 hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer.
