Description
Moroday Clear Double Sided Hi Tack Acrylic Tape is a clear, permanent-bond mounting tape made for surfaces that most tapes struggle to grip, supplied here as an 18mm x 30m roll. It is designed to hold on low energy surfaces, and it also bonds well to higher energy materials such as metal and plastics. That makes it a handy all-rounder for trim, mirrors and decorative fixing jobs.
About the formula
This is an acrylic adhesive tape with a very high initial tack, so it grabs quickly on contact. The manufacturer also describes excellent shear strength, which means it resists sliding under load. The adhesive is UV stable and resists high temperatures, moisture and humidity, and it is built for long-lasting durability. The tape is clear, so the join stays discreet.
Where to use it
Indoors: fixing mirrors and glass items, skirting boards, trim, profiles and decorative mouldings, and attaching rubber flooring pieces.
Outdoors: the tape is rated for indoor and outdoor use, so it suits exposed trim and profile fixing where UV and humidity are a factor.
Suitable materials include glass and mirrors, rubber, metal and plastics, as well as the trim, profiles, skirting boards and mouldings used around the home. Test a small area first on any unusual or heavily textured plastic.
How to use it
Make sure both surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust, oil, grease and loose paint. Apply the tape to one surface and trim it to length. Peel back the liner, position the second item carefully and press down firmly along the full length of the tape to wet out the adhesive. Positioning matters because the initial grab is very strong, so line things up before contact.
Important notes
This is a permanent bond tape, so it is not designed for items you plan to remove and reposition. Surface preparation and firm pressure give the best result. Heavy or load-bearing items should be supported while the bond settles, and the tape should not replace mechanical fixings where safety depends on them. Check the suitability of any surface that is porous, dusty, textured or freshly painted before committing to the job.
