Description
The Deks Dektite Premium #7 is a red silicone roof flashing for sealing larger pipe, flue and vent penetrations through metal roofing, supplied here as a single unit that suits pipes from 150mm to 300mm. A flexible silicone cone fits snugly around the pipe, and a formable aluminium edge lets the large square base follow the shape of your roof sheeting. It is built for the heat, UV and weather swings of Australian roofs.
About the product
The cone is moulded from red silicone polymer. Deks rates it for constant temperatures at the roofline from -50°C up to 200°C, so it also suits hot flues and exhausts as well as cold pipes. The cone is designed to hold firm contact against the pipe wall for a watertight seal. The malleable aluminium edge bends to match corrugated and ribbed profiles. The wide 456mm square base gives you a more forgiving fit over a larger or slightly untidy opening. Deks lists UV testing, BAL 29 and other certifications for the range on its product page.
Where to use it
Indoors: not applicable, this is a roof-top flashing. It is fitted from the outside where the pipe leaves the building.
Outdoors: single pipe, flue, vent, exhaust or similar round penetrations on metal roofs, including hot-flue applications that suit the temperature range above.
Suitable for a single round penetration with an outside diameter of 150mm to 300mm on metal roof profiles. Check the pipe size before you order, as the cone is trimmed to fit and cannot be made larger.
How to use it
Measure the outside diameter of the pipe and trim the silicone cone with sharp shears at the matching point so it grips the pipe snugly. Slide the flashing down over the pipe and bend the aluminium edge to match the roof profile. Fix the base to the roof with suitable screws and seal as recommended by the manufacturer. Check that the cone sits tight against the pipe and that the base follows the sheeting with no gaps.
Important notes
Always follow the Deks installation instructions for your roof profile and pipe. Wear gloves when handling the aluminium edge, as trimmed and formed edges can be sharp. This product is a flashing, not a sealant, and the base should be fixed and sealed with fasteners and sealants suited to your roof. If you are unsure about fitting to hot flues or in bushfire-prone areas, check the relevant requirements or ask a licensed roofer or plumber.
