Avoid constant submergence in water and exposure to extremely high temperatures after cure. Storage: Store in a cool area away from sunlight or heat. Remove cap and carefully pierce seal. For larger area repairs such as shoe soles, we recommend you use the contact bond method: For quick and even bonding, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Keep apart until the adhesive film is almost dry (approx. 10 – 20 minutes). Carefully line up surfaces to be joined and press surfaces firmly together. Bonds immediately on contact. Clamping may be necessary in some applications. For smaller areas, either use the contact method as above, or join with a wet bond: Apply Shoe Glue to one surface only and immediately press together. Lightly clamp or hold until dry. Allow adhesive to achieve maximum bond strength (24 hours) before wearing your repaired shoe/s. Wipe nozzle clean and replace cap immediately after use. Clean up application tools and excess adhesive with turps before it dries. Handy tips A piece of plastic from a takeaway container makes a good applicator for shoe soles. Bulldog clips are handy to use for clamping straps and other small areas. Pack includes a removable nozzle for easy application.

Cut laminated plastic sheet slightly oversize all round. Completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry – no more than 40 minutes. Position the items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels or heavy craft paper and working from one edge press surfaces firmly together. Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or else by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. For bonding other materials, apply as for laminated plastics above. When small surface areas are to be joined a wet bond may be used. Simply apply Gel Grip to one surface then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some grades such as polystyrene and sheet vinyl. Use Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications. Keep container sealed when not in use. Coverage – up to 5 square metres/litre (bonded area 2.5 square metres/litre) depending on porosity of surfaces and thickness of applications For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. A contact adhesive is an adhesive that must be applied to two surfaces and allowed to dry before surfaces are joined. Once surfaces are pushed together an instant bond forms. Therefore extended pressure or clamping is unnecessary (*Clamping of warped or curled surfaces may be required) Being Low VOC/low odour this product is much safer for use indoors than most other contact adhesives which tend to be solvent-based.. Can be used on horizontal or vertical surfaces In the event of prolonged open time, Kwik Grip Advanced will continue to give good contact bond for up to 8 hours. What does this mean? This means that once you have applied the adhesive, if you suddenly need to run out to the shops or go and do another job, you can safely come back within 8 hours and join the two surfaces for a great result! Many solvent-based contact adhesives have a much shorter open time limit.
