For porous surfaces or after high-pressure washing, allow 3-4 days drying time before applying the sealer. Application: Start at the top of the wall and brush Tile & Grout Sealer liberally over the tiles and grout. Finish with the shower base or floor, ensuring thorough application to all surfaces. Drying: Allow 15 minutes for the first application to react, then reapply over the entire area. After the second application, wait 15 minutes for penetration, then wipe off any excess with a dry cloth. Allow 24 hours for full drying before use. Sikaflex® Pro+ is a 1-component moisture curing polyurethane elastic sealant and adhesive that is formulated with Sika’s newly engineered i-Cure technology to provide higher performance, more movement capability, and improved bubble-free curing. Sika’s new i-Cure technology is user and eco-friendly, with no solvents and a low environmental impact, while maintaining the performance of traditional polyurethane. To name a few, Pro+ can be used on: Aluminium Steel Powder-coated metals or glazed tiles Concrete, aerated concrete, cement-based renders, mortars, and bricks Application of Sikaflex® Pro+ Ensure all surfaces are structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from any grease, etc. (The surface can be damp but not wet. If uncertain, apply masking tape to test adhesion. If masking tape sticks to the surface, it's OK to proceed.) Movement joints must have a minimum width and depth of 5mm. Apply a bond-breaker tape, or backing rod to the base of the joint to prevent 3-sided adhesion. To keep the work clean, apply masking tape to the top edge of the joint on each face. Cut the nozzle to the required width and gun sealant into the joint. Avoid voids or air entrapment in the joint when applying. Before the sealant has skinned, tool off with an appropriate spatula to give a smooth finish. Remove the masking tape and clean up immediately.

Timber Brick & Concrete Plasterboard, particleboard & fibre cement sheeting Masonry Ceramic Tiles Glass Aluminium Bare or painted surfaces Colorbond Many other building materials How to Use Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, flaking/powdery paint, and old or crumbling caulk. Cut the seal and nozzle, fit it to the top of the cartridge, and insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking Gun. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle and apply, forcing the product into the gap. Smooth with a wet finger or spatula. Clean up excess with a damp cloth immediately and clean hands and tools with water. Allow surface to skin thoroughly prior to painting with water-based paints. If using oil-based paints or for large gaps, allow the sealant to set for about 24 hours and ensure the product is completely cured. Avoid water contact until fully cured – 72 hours or longer in cold weather. Limitations Not recommended for foot traffic areas, gaps between tongue and groove boards, or weatherboard overlaps. Use Selleys No More Gaps Timber Flooring Flexible Gap Filler for gaps between tongue and groove boards, and Selleys No More Gaps Exterior & Weatherboard Gap Filler for weatherboard overlaps. Not suitable for areas in prolonged contact with water (e.g., showers, pools, & spas). Use Selleys Silicone Sealant for significant joint movement or areas of frequent water immersion. Do not apply or store below 5°C. Handy Tips Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product for a neat finish and easier cleanup. When first applying, extrude a small amount onto scrap material to ensure smooth, continuous flow of gap filler. If wiping off excess with a wet finger, wet it with water (not saliva) to avoid bacteria that can promote mould growth. Allow surfaces to skin before painting, approximately 30 minutes. Protect from rain until the surface is firmly skinned. Some water-based undercoats and flat paints may crack when drying. To reduce this, allow the product to cure for 24 hours in small gaps or 48 hours in larger gaps before painting. Keep a pack of Selleys Sugar Soap Wipes handy for easy cleanup. Clean Up Water-based, so clean up with water. Uncured product may be removed with water. Cured product can be removed by sanding and scraping. As a rule, the substrates must be prepared in accordance with the instructions given in the current Sika Pre-Treatment Chart. ApplicationCartridges: Cut tip to joint size.Puncture airtight seal. Install with hand or power operated gun.Unipacks: Place unipack in the application gun and snip off the closure clip. Cut off the tip of the nozzle to suit joint width and gun the sealant into the joint with a suitable compressed air or hand operated gun, taking care to avoid air entrapment. Once opened, packs should be used up within a relatively short space of time. Do not apply at temperatures below 40°F (5°C) or above 100°F (38°C). The optimum temperature for substrate and sealant is between 60°F (15°C) and 77°F (25°C). Tooling and finishingTooling and finishing must be carried out within the tack-free time of the sealant. Finishing agents or lubricants must be tested for suitability/ compatibility. RemovalUncured Sikaflex®-227 can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Strictly follow the solvent manufacturer's instructions for use and warnings.Hands and exposed skin should be washed immediately using a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on the skin! OverpaintingSikaflex®-227 can be overpainted when tack-free. The paint and paint process must be tested for compatibility by carrying out preliminary trials. Sikaflex® Crystal Clear adheres without primers and/or activators. However, for optimum adhesion and critical, high performance applications, such as on multi-story buildings, highly stressed joints, extreme weather exposure or water immersion, the following priming and/or pretreatment procedures shall be followed: Non-porous substrates Aluminium, anodised aluminium, stainless steel, PVC, galvanised steel, powder coated metals or glazed tiles have to be cleaned and pre-treated using Sika® Aktivator-205, wiped on with a clean towel. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of > 15 minutes (< 6 hours). Other metals, such as copper, brass and titanium-zinc, also have to be cleaned and pre-treated using Sika® Aktivator-205,wiped on with a clean towel. After the necessary flash-off time, use a brush to apply Sika® Primer-3 N and allow a further flash-off time of > 30minutes (< 8 hours) before sealing the joints. Porous substrates Concrete, aerated concrete and cement based renders, mortars and bricks shall be primed using Sika® Primer-3 N applied with a brush. Before sealing, allow a flash-off time of > 30 minutes (< 8 hours).For more detailed advice and instructions please contact the local Sika Technical Services Department. Note: Primers are adhesion promoters. They are neither a substitute for the correct cleaning of a surface, nor do they improve the strength of the surface significantly. Bonding After substrate preparation, apply Sikaflex® Crystal Clear in beads, strips or spots to the bonding surface in intervals of a few centimetres each. Use hand pressure only to set the element to be bonded into position. If necessary, use SikaTack® Panel Tape during the initial hours of curing. An incorrectly positioned element can easily be unfastened and repositioned during the first few minutes after application. Apply pressure again. Optimum bonding will be obtained after the complete curing of Sikaflex® Crystal Clear. The recommended adhesive layer thickness (depending on surface evenness) is ≤3 mm. Fresh, uncured adhesive remaining on the surface must be removed immediately. Final strength will be obtained after complete curing of Sikaflex® Crystal Clear. Sealing After the necessary substrate preparation, insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary. Insert a cartridge into the sealant gun and extrude Sikaflex® Crystal Clear into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment. Sikaflex® Crystal Clear sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion. It is recommended to use masking tape where exact joint lines or neat lines are required. After the necessary substrate preparation, insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary. Insert a foil pack or cartridge into the sealant gun and extrude Sika® Firerate into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment. Sika® Firerate sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion. It is recommended to use masking tape where exact joint lines or neat lines are required. The shower should not be used for at least 24 hours after the wall lining has been installed. Do not apply blobs of adhesive. These will cause unsightly undulations and buckles in the sheet.

Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there old silicone which needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER, this ingenous product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipe. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see handy tip. Sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid under cutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Silicone Sealant in a Wet Area Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish use a spatula dipped in mineral turpetine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface, may result so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safety tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irrtate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

    Selleys Special Putty is a Linseed oil based, knife grade putty available in a natural colour. Features Easy to use. What materials is this putty suitable for? Wood Timber How to use this product Rebates and grooves should be rigid, free from distortion, true and square, and should be clean, dry and unobstructed before glazing. Rebates and grooves should be of a size which allows adequate edge cover and putty volume. Minimum bed putty – 2mm, minimum front putty – 4mm where timber beads are used, and 2mm bed putty and 12mm front putty where no glazing beads are used. Depth of rebate: 10mm for 3-4mm glass, 15mm for 5-8mm glass. Two coats of good quality house paint should be applied not less than 2 weeks and not more than 4 weeks after completion of glazing. Paint should be carried out 2mm above the top line of the putty. Handy tips Do not use kerosene, turps or other material to aid in working the putty Allow putty to skin before applying paint Product can be applied by hand or with a putty knife. Add a few drops of linseed oil on the hands or knife to make for easier working Putty can thicken in cold weather. Warming the putty by working it in the hands before the application will soften it.
