Sikaflex® Pro+ is a 1-component moisture curing polyurethane elastic sealant and adhesive that is formulated with Sika’s newly engineered i-Cure technology to provide higher performance, more movement capability, and improved bubble-free curing. Sika’s new i-Cure technology is user and eco-friendly, with no solvents and a low environmental impact, while maintaining the performance of traditional polyurethane. To name a few, Pro+ can be used on: Aluminium Steel Powder-coated metals or glazed tiles Concrete, aerated concrete, cement-based renders, mortars, and bricks Application of Sikaflex® Pro+ Ensure all surfaces are structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from any grease, etc. (The surface can be damp but not wet. If uncertain, apply masking tape to test adhesion. If masking tape sticks to the surface, it's OK to proceed.) Movement joints must have a minimum width and depth of 5mm. Apply a bond-breaker tape, or backing rod to the base of the joint to prevent 3-sided adhesion. To keep the work clean, apply masking tape to the top edge of the joint on each face. Cut the nozzle to the required width and gun sealant into the joint. Avoid voids or air entrapment in the joint when applying. Before the sealant has skinned, tool off with an appropriate spatula to give a smooth finish. Remove the masking tape and clean up immediately.

SikaBond is a high strength contact adhesive that will not slump on vertical surfaces. It can be used as a one way liquid adhesive, or a two way contact adhesive, on a variety of surfaces. Uses SikaBond can be used on most substrates due to its excellent adhesion. These include: Floor and wall panels. Wood, plasterboard and chipboard. Aluminium, iron and steel. Concrete, cement sheeting and masonry. Advantages One component ready to use. Fast drying time. Easy to use. High adhesion strength. Non-slump. Storage and Shelf Life Stored in the original sealed packaging at temperatures of between 5ºC and 35ºC, this material will keep for at least twelve (12) months. Instructions for Use Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of oil, grease and surface contamination. Thoroughly remove all loose particles and dust. Any loose flaking must be removed and light sanding is recommended. Application One Way Method: This method is recommended for heavier panels or where load or stress is expected. Apply a 4 to 6mm bead of SikaBond using a cartridge gun, making sure the beads are no more than 45cm apart. Bring both substrates immediately together and clamp, nail or screw for a minimum of 24 hours. For butt joints use adhesive on both panel edges. Two Way Method: Apply adhesive as in one way method, bring together substrates, and press firmly over entire surface to transfer adhesive. Then pull apart. Allow adhesive to tack off for 3 to 5 minutes depending on weather conditions, reposition the objects and press together firmly. The surfaces should be tapped together with a hammer and a padded block to ensure maximum contact. Maximum bond strength will be achieved in 12 to 72 hours, depending on substrates and weather. Heavy panels may require temporary mechanical fastening until maximum strength is achieved.

Mortar Masonry Concrete Wood Stone Primed metal surfaces Brick Plaster Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material. Using the flexible spatula provided on the lid, press the filler firmly into the crack or hole and smooth off surface; there is no need to overfill. For deeper cracks, apply in 6mm layers allowing each layer to dry before applying the next. Lightly sand back any excess filler from the surface after product dries (2-3 hours for 2mm applications). Dust off any loose dust before applying undercoat and painting with water-based paints or oil-based paints. Limitations: Product is not flexible so not suitable for use between surfaces that are subject to the structural movement - use Selleys No More Gaps. Avoid using below 5°C or in wet conditions. Painting with oil-based paints is not recommended until 24 hours after the filler has been applied. Water-based paints may be used immediately after the filler has set. If the filler is found to have stiffened prior to use, stir product. The product that has actually hardened should be discarded. If still too dry add one teaspoon of water and stir again to desired consistency. Application tools may be cleaned with water. Before painting, clean dust and filler particles using Selleys Sugar Soap or Selleys Super Kleen. In exterior applications, protect from rain until dry and painted over with 2 coats of paint. Some paints may temporarily discolour when applied over the filler, but will revert to the correct colour once dry. For applications more than 2mm deep, or in cold or humid conditions, expect longer drying times. Keep container closed when not in use.

Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge and insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking gun. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle and gun sealant ahead of nozzle ensuring product is pushed into joint. For a smooth finish, tool with a spatula dipped in soapy water. Clean up before sealant skins in 5-10 minutes, with a cloth dampened in mineral turps. Sealant will cure in 72 hours. At this point any unneeded sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid under-cutting the seal. Limitation: • Not paintable. Complete painting 7 days prior to applying sealant. • Not recommended for use as a plug for burst pipes. • Do not use in below waterline applications. ^Not for use on polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon - pre-test plastics before use Handy tips For neater joints, mask sides before applying sealant and remove tape before sealant skins. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. For a better finish use a spatula dipped in mineral turps or soapy water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge and insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking gun. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle and gun sealant ahead of nozzle ensuring product is pushed into joint. For a smooth finish, tool with a spatula dipped in soapy water. Clean up before sealant skins in 5-10 minutes, with a cloth dampened in mineral turps. Sealant will cure in 72 hours. At this point any unneeded sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid under-cutting the seal. Limitation: • Not paintable. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to air. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safety tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. Keep away from children. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.
