Loxeal 58-11 Anaerobic Thread Sealant
Loxeal 58-11 is a high performance anaerobic sealant designed for metal thread joints only. It replaces PTFE tape and cord, delivers instant sealing against moderate pressure, and cures to form a shock and vibration resistant seal that remains reliable from -55°C to +150°C.
Why choose Loxeal 58-11
-
Instant sealing against moderate pressure to get systems back in service fast.
-
Thixotropic formulation stays where you put it and resists migration on threads.
-
Wide chemical compatibility including gas, water, LPG, hydrocarbons, oils and more.
-
Shock and vibration resistant for durable, leak free joints.
-
Temperature range from -55°C to +150°C for tough Australian conditions.
Certified and approved
-
Gas approvals: DVGW and DIN EN 751-1, plus Australian Gas Association for working pressure up to 20 bar.
-
Oxygen service: Approved for gaseous oxygen up to 10 bar at +60°C.
-
Potable water: WRAS listed and suitable for contact with wholesome water. Also approved for contact with drinking water by Global Mark.
-
Food area use: NSF registered category S4 for use as an adhesive in and around food processing areas.
-
Hydrogen: Tested by KIWA as a sealant for use with pure hydrogen to EN 751-1.
Typical applications
- Sealing tapered and parallel metal threaded fittings in plumbing, HVAC, gas and hydraulic systems.
- Replacing PTFE tape or thread cord on metal pipework where a permanent, pressure resistant seal is needed.
Directions
- Clean and degrease threads thoroughly.
- Cut the nozzle to the required bead size.
- Apply a continuous bead 1 to 2 threads back from the leading edge. Ensure full coverage around the circumference.
- Assemble and tighten the joint. Wipe away excess uncured material.
- Allow to cure (see Cure times). Cure speed can be accelerated on passive metals or at low temperature with an appropriate activator.
Cure times at +25°C
-
Handling: 15 to 30 minutes
-
Functional: 1 to 3 hours
Time to water service for potable water systems at +21.1°C
-
Brass, copper, cast iron: 24 hours
-
Stainless steel, aluminium: 7 days

Limitations and notes
- For metal to metal threaded joints only. Not suitable for plastic threads or rubber components.
- Liquid product can attack some coatings and plastics. Pre test if unsure.
- For disassembly, use normal tools. Heat components to approximately +150°C to +250°C if required, then remove cured residue mechanically and clean with solvent.
- Store in a cool, dry place at or below +25°C. Do not return unused product to the bottle.
