Alternatively, low clamping pressures (50lbs/in2) can be used with softwoods; higher pressures are recommended for hardwoods (100 – 150lbs/in2). Do not stress joint for 12 hours. Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there is old silicone that needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER. This ingenious product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course Grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched-up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before it skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpentine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipe. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately with mineral turpentine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. At this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid undercutting the seal. When first applying, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish, complete painting prior to using the sealant as it cannot be painted over. Use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant for a better finish. Work in sections that can be completed before the sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs for a better finish. Storage and Re-Use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C. The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use, keep the nozzle on the cartridge. Silicone is a reactive product and cures once exposed to humidity. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When re-using, simply remove the foil and plug from the old nozzle, pull out the excess silicone, and re-pierce the tip of the cartridge. If cure has occurred inside the cartridge, the product is no longer usable and should be discarded.

Answer: You can stain before or after applying TIMBERMATE (see "How do I match colours"). Question: How are the colours matched? Answer: Colour matching is easy. You can do it either of the following ways: Add your colourant to the putty and match the exact colour whilst wet. TIMBERMATE will dry lighter, but coat back to its original wet colour once coated with clear finishes. The final result is what you see (wet) is what you get. You can stain TIMBERMATE once it is dry. To test if dry, just rub sandpaper over putty. If putty clogs the sandpaper the filler is still wet. Wait for TIMBERMATE to dry and then stain. Question: How long does TIMBERMATE take to dry? Answer: Depending on the weather and depth of fill, TIMBERMATE will dry as follows: In hot weather, TIMBERMATE dries quicker. In cold weather, the depth of fill will determine the drying time. You can speed up the drying time by using a heat gun, hair dryer or light. Question: What depth or width can be filled? Answer: Do not fill holes deeper than 6-8mm at a time. TIMBERMATE dries quicker when filled in layers. Allow TIMBERMATE to dry between layers. Question: Why is the tub hard some days and feels dry and soft on other days? Answer: TIMBERMATE is waterbased. It contains no harmful solvents or acrylics and is, therefore, temperature sensitive. The warmer the weather or environment the softer the putty. On hot days it will start to dry in the tub if not properly sealed. Add a few drops of water to re moisten. Question: How is TIMBERMATE softened? Answer: Add a few drops of warm water to the top of the tub. It will soften quite quickly. If tub is frozen, thaw out by standing tub in a tub of hot water or place in a microwave for 20 seconds. TIMBERMATE is freeze thaw stable. Question: Can TIMBERMATE be used for any other purpose other than wood repair? The glue responds best to an air humidity level of 50-70 %. Surface requirements Surfaces to be glued must be clean, dry, and free of dust and grease, and must fit exactly. Preliminary surface treatment Any dust, oil, grease, wax or separating agent should be thoroughly removed from the surfaces to be stuck together. The best way to achieve this is to rub the parts a number of times with appropriate solvents, such as acetone (if suitable for the material – check first!). For metals and metal alloys it is usually sufficient to roughen the surface using emery paper or by grinding or brushing. DURING USE: Directions for use 1. To pierce the membrane, turn the cap clockwise firmly onto the tube. Tip: do not press the tube while piercing. 2. Unscrew the cap to reveal the applicator. Apply the adhesive directly from the tube, using the nozzle, as thinly as possible onto one side (too much glue slows down the curing process significantly). Press parts together immediately. After use, clean nozzle with a dry tissue and replace cap. Advice When glueing at low humidity, curing time can be shortened by briefly breathing onto one of the parts to be assembled. The best glueing results are reached at room temperature. Points of attention Contains cyanoacrylate. Bonds skin and eyelids together in seconds. If product comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, glue can be dissolved by soaking in warm soapy water. Then apply a skin cream. May cause respiratory irritation. Avoid breathing vapours. Keep out of the reach of children. AFTER USE: Stains/residue Wipe off excess glue immediately with a dry cloth. After curing, glue residue is very difficult to remove. Acetone will dissolve glue but very slowly (check suitability first). Storage conditions Store in a dry, cool, frost-free place. Storage below +5 °C (in refrigerator) ensures maximum shelf life.

Remove all old gasket material from mating surfaces before cleaning with a residue free solvent and allow to completely dry. CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT Uncured, excess SikaSeal® 401 Aquarium may be removed with Sika® Remover- 208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the excess sealant can be trimmed away from the edges with a knife. SikaBond® - PVA is a high solids, one part Cross-linking PVA which meets the D3/BS EN204 specification. SikaBond® - PVA is an ideal product for bonding a wide range of timber components including tongue and groove solid timber and laminated flooring substrates giving tough, flexible permanent bonding. Uses SikaBond® -PVA can be used on most substrates due to its excellent adhesion. These include: Timber MDF boards Particle boards Ply woods Advantages - Excellent water resistance - High bond strength within 24 hours - Suitable for interior and exterior applications Storage and Shelf Life Store in a cool, dry place with 25oC maximum condition. This material will keep for at least twelve (12) months. Instructions for Use Surface Preparation Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free from dust and oil. Edges should be squarely machined to ensure maximum contact. Application SikaBond® -PVA is to be applied by squeeze bottle, brush or roller. Bonds should be assembled within a few minutes and then tightly clamped or pressed until the adhesive has set. Wipe off adhesive squeeze out immediately after assembly with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Assemblies are best left overnight before moving or transportation. Maximum bond strength is achieved within 48 hours. Allow floors 24 hours for the adhesive to cure prior to using. SikaBond® -PVA should be used as supplied. SikaBond Fast is a premium, water-based, multi-purpose construction adhesive providing strong initial grab and high bond strength. Uses: SikaBond Fast can be used on most substrates due to its excellent adhesion. Instructions for Use Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of oil, grease and surface contamination. Thoroughly remove all loose particles and dust. Any loose flaking material must be removed and light sanding is recommended. SikaBond Fast will adhere to damp (not wet) substrates but drying times may increase. Substrates should be above 5ºC. Do not bond 2 non-porous substrates ensure that one surface is porous. Application Apply a 5 mm bead of SikaBond Fast to one surface using a cartridge gun; ensure the beads are no more than 45cm apart. Bring both substrates immediately together and clamp, nail or screw for a minimum of 24 hours. For butt joints use adhesive on both panel edges. Cleaning The uncured material can be cleaned with water. The hardened material can only be removed by mechanical means.
