Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as the SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun. We recommend this caulking gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess from run-on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun, and extrude the silicone sealant. Move in a pushing motion along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpentine or, for a professional finish, use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpentine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before it skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpentine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipe. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately with mineral turpentine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. At this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy Tips Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product for a neat finish and easy cleanup. When first applying, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish, complete painting prior to using the sealant as it cannot be painted over. Use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant for a better finish. Work in sections that can be completed before the sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs for a better finish. Silicone is a reactive product and cures once exposed to humidity. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When re-using, simply remove the foil and plug from the old nozzle, pull out the excess silicone, and re-pierce the tip of the cartridge. On hot days it will start to dry in the tub if not properly sealed. Add a few drops of water to re moisten. Question: How is TIMBERMATE softened? Answer: Add a few drops of warm water to the top of the tub. It will soften quite quickly. If tub is frozen, thaw out by standing tub in a tub of hot water or place in a microwave for 20 seconds. Apply the adhesive directly from the tube, using the nozzle, as thinly as possible onto one side (too much glue slows down the curing process significantly). Press parts together immediately. After use, clean nozzle with a dry tissue and replace cap. Advice When glueing at low humidity, curing time can be shortened by briefly breathing onto one of the parts to be assembled. The best glueing results are reached at room temperature. Points of attention Contains cyanoacrylate. Bonds skin and eyelids together in seconds. If product comes into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. In case of contact with skin, glue can be dissolved by soaking in warm soapy water. Blue, removable Thread Locker prevents threaded metal fasteners, nuts, bolts, and screws from loosening. Thread Locker is an advanced anaerobic adhesive. Surfaces should be clean and dry, free from oil and grease. 2. Roughen surfaces with emery cloth or sandpaper for best results. 3. Dispense from container following package directions & mix thoroughly approximately 1 minute. Use package blister or clean cardboard for mixing container, do not use metal. 4. Apply to both surfaces and mate parts together. 5. Remove excess epoxy immediately with denatured alcohol. 6. Sets in 4-6 minutes at room temperature (77F / 25C) with full cure in 24 hours. Helpful Hints: To colour Epoxy Gel, do test sample using mixed epoxy with added small amounts of colourant, such as paint (latex or oil), stain or tint. Mix well & apply to scrap piece of wood. Let dry to compare the final colour to the color of repair item. Keep testing until a colour match is achieved, then mix the appropriate amount of colourant with Epoxy Gel and bond repair item.

Red, permanent Thread Locker prevents loosening by filling in the inner spaces in threaded metal parts to form a tough solid assembly. Pacer Technology Super Glue Red Threadlocker (15191) is a high strength premium grade product used to permanently lock or seal metal threaded components or for metal fasteners up to 1” in diameter. Also prevents loosening due to high vibration. Appearance – red liquid with mild odour. Use Instructions: For best results, parts should be clean and dry. Apply a bead around the part to be bonded & assemble with a twisting motion to spread adhesive. Allow curing 24 hours for maximum strength. The excess adhesive on the outside of parts will not cure and can be removed with a solvent-soaked cloth. Storage and shelf life: Recap for storage. A one-year shelf life can be expected. CAUTION: IRRITATING TO EYES AND SKIN. Contains methacrylate esters and cumene hydroperoxide. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. May cause skin dermatitis on prolonged contact with sensitive individuals. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
