Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there is old silicone that needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER. This ingenious product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course Grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched-up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as the SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun. We recommend this caulking gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess from run-on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun, and extrude the silicone sealant. Move in a pushing motion along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpentine or, for a professional finish, use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpentine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before it skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpentine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipe. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately with mineral turpentine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. At this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade, but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy Tips Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product for a neat finish and easy cleanup. When first applying, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish, complete painting prior to using the sealant as it cannot be painted over. Use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant for a better finish. Work in sections that can be completed before the sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up spills and clean any material off the skin before it cures. Safety Tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin. If contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as the product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. Storage and Re-Use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C. The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use, keep the nozzle on the cartridge. Silicone is a reactive product and cures once exposed to humidity. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When re-using, simply remove the foil and plug from the old nozzle, pull out the excess silicone, and re-pierce the tip of the cartridge. If cure has occurred inside the cartridge, the product is no longer usable and should be discarded.

Two Way Method: Apply adhesive as in one way method, bring together substrates, and press firmly over entire surface to transfer adhesive. Then pull apart. Allow adhesive to tack off for 3 to 5 minutes depending on weather conditions, reposition the objects and press together firmly. The surfaces should be tapped together with a hammer and a padded block to ensure maximum contact. Maximum bond strength will be achieved in 12 to 72 hours, depending on substrates and weather. Place shower lining onto wall within 10 minutes and firmly press the entire sheet with your hands so that full contact is made with all beads of adhesive. Brace the lining as required in the shower manufacturer's installation instructions. Bracing if required should remain in position for not less than 18 hours. The shower should not be used for at least 24 hours after the wall lining has been installed. Do not apply blobs of adhesive. These will cause unsightly undulations and buckles in the sheet.

For larger area repairs such as shoe soles, we recommend you use the contact bond method: For quick and even bonding, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Keep apart until the adhesive film is almost dry (approx. 10 – 20 minutes). Carefully line up surfaces to be joined and press surfaces firmly together. Bonds immediately on contact. Clamping may be necessary in some applications. For smaller areas, either use the contact method as above, or join with a wet bond: Apply Shoe Glue to one surface only and immediately press together. Lightly clamp or hold until dry. Allow adhesive to achieve maximum bond strength (24 hours) before wearing your repaired shoe/s. Wipe nozzle clean and replace cap immediately after use. Clean up application tools and excess adhesive with turps before it dries. Handy tips A piece of plastic from a takeaway container makes a good applicator for shoe soles. APPLICATION FOR MIRRORS For mirrors up to 6mm thick, apply strips of adhesive 5cm from edges and approx 8cm apart When mirror is pressed onto the wall, strips of adhesive must not spread into, or touch one another. A gap must remain between them. Immediately after applying adhesive, place mirror against wall before adhesive skins (within 5 minutes) The weight must be supported and mirror must be held in place with temporary supports (e.g. with clips or tape) to hold and maintain adhesive contact over the total bond area until sufficient adhesive strength has developed. Normally after 72 hours. Do not seal around the edges of the mirror for at least a week to allow air circulation and aid the adhesive fully cure Mirrors should not be fixed directly to unpainted plaster, timber, concrete or brick walls. These surfaces should be painted to prevent potential damage to mirror. Painted surfaces should not be flaking or peeling. Not recommended for fixing vinyl back mirrors If in doubt, conduct an adhesion test by curing a little adhesive onto mirror backing for 24 hours. If adhesive can be peeled off, do not proceed. Veneers Rubber Cork Felt Leather Canvas Metals Timber How to use this product USE ONLY IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA Contact Bonding Hold down lid, whilst opening can. Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. If cutting laminate sheets, cut slightly oversize. For porous surfaces apply a thin coat to seal surface and allow to dry for approx. 40mins. Using applicator, completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep surfaces apart until ‘touch dry’ – approx 15 minutes, no more than 30 minutes. Position items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels. When edges are perfectly aligned, remove dowels, and working from one edge, press surfaces firmly together. Grabs IMMEDIATELY on contact. Secure the bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. Maximum bond strength is reached after 24 hours. Clamping of warped or curled surfaces may be necessary. Wet Bonding (For small areas or for bonding where one surface is porous) Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Apply KWIK GRIP to one surface, then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some polystyrene and sheet vinyls. Cover: 500mL covers up to 2.5m2 of one surface, depending on porosity of surfaces. For vertical surfaces we recommend using SELLEYS Kwik Grip Vertical Gel. For applications in confined or low ventilation areas eg car interior, we recommend using SELLEYS Kwik Grip Waterbased, as it is non-toxic and free of fumes. Use a brush, knife or serrated scraper for application. When using the contact method REMEMBER bonding is immediate once the two surfaces are joined. Keep container sealed when not in use. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. Tools and other equipment on which Kwik Grip Crystal Clear has dried may be cleaned by soaking in Toluol or lacquer thinner. Excess adhesive on the face of the jointed materials may also be removed with solvent, but care should be taken that the materials themselves are not damaged by the solvent. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Contains highly flammable solvents and care should be taken to ensure all fire precautions are observed. DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE is a ready-mixed indoor wall tile adhesive. Ideal for all types of ceramic wall tiles and dimensional stones such as marble and granite, it can be used on a number of surfaces which include compressed fibre-cement sheets, plasterboard, cement render and adequately prepared painted surfaces (oil-based paint only). DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE has superior flexibility and high grab to support even the heaviest of wall tiles. SURFACE PREPARATION Surfaces must be consistently flat and firmly fixed. Clean off dust, oil, grease and all loose contaminating materials or coatings. Ensure surfaces are dry, with no residue or permanent dampness. Prime porous surfaces (e.g. fibre- cement sheets, cement render) with DUNLOP®PRIMER & ADDITIVE beforehand and allow to dry. Cement Render Allow to cure for at least 7 days. Render should have a wood float finish. Plasterboard There is no need to prime the cardboard surface. However, where sheets are joined, DUNLOP®PRIMER & ADDITIVE must be used over the base jointing compound. Do not use the topping compound in areas which are to be tiled. Compressed Fibre-Cement Sheets Remove surface dust with a damp sponge and prime with DUNLOP®PRIMER & ADDITIVE and allow to dry before tiling. Painted Surfaces Oil-based paint should be roughened mechanically and loose flaking paint should be removed. Ensure the paint is suitable for tiling over. Thoroughly remove water-based paints. Do not use paint stripper or solvents. Allow surface to dry after cleaning. MIXING No mixing required. APPLICATION As a general guide use a 6mm notch trowel to spread adhesive achieving a minimum 1mm bed thickness. Do not wet tiles before fixing. If backs of tiles are dusty clean with a damp sponge. Spread the adhesive with the notches running horizontally across the wall. Spread only one square metre at a time and ensure a skin has not developed on the adhesive before bedding tiles. Press and slide the tile into position ensuring the whole of the back of the tile is in good contact with the adhesive. Use tile spacers if desired to ensure even spacing. Remove any surplus adhesive on face of tile or between joints before it sets. Adjustment of tiles should be carried out within 60 minutes of laying (at 23°C and 50% humidity). COVERAGE DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE will cover approximately 0.5m2per kg. Coverage will vary depending on the condition of the surface being tiled and application technique. DRYING TIME DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE will dry in approximately 24 hours depending on ambient temperature, porosity of surface and tiles. MOVEMENT JOINTS Incorporate movement joints at 3.5m intervals and at internal corners. Any structural movement joints must be carried through to the face of the tiling, at junctions between different background material and at fixtures interrupting the tile surface. These joints should be about 6mm wide and and kept free from adhesive. They should be filled with a high quality flexible material e.g. DUNLOP®COLOURED SILICONE. GROUTING Wait until adhesive has set. This takes approximately 24 hours. Remove tile spacers and use DUNLOP®GROUT adding DUNLOP®PRIMER AND ADDITIVE to enhance colour, impart a degree of flexibility and reduce porosity and staining. For easier maintenance seal with DUNLOP®GROUT SEALER. CLEAN UP While it is still fresh, DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE can be cleaned off with a damp sponge. Tools, hands and material soiled with adhesive can be easily cleaned with water as long as the adhesive is still fresh. CAUTION Do not use DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE to fix green marble. Do not use DUNLOP®WALL TILE ADHESIVE in continuous immersion applications e.g. swimming pools, tanks etc..
