Betta Tilecare Wet Area Waterproofer is a flexible, fast-drying, liquid rubber membrane designed for waterproofing internal wet areas such as bathrooms, showers, laundries, and tiled spaces. It provides a durable, seamless moisture barrier that resists water pressure and prevents leaks when applied beneath tiles, screeds, or surface coatings. Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove dust, oil, grease, wax, and loose or flaking material. Smooth, glossy surfaces should be roughened or etched. Rough or uneven surfaces should be patched and leveled. Mechanically remove any surface contamination or de-bonded coatings for optimal adhesion. Priming (if required): Use a compatible primer on highly porous, glossy, or damp surfaces to promote adhesion. Ensure primed surfaces are dry before applying the membrane. Application Instructions: Apply a bond breaker system such as joint tape or fabric to corners, joints, and penetrations. Apply the first coat using a brush or roller, working it into the surface to avoid pinholes. Allow the first coat to dry (approx. 1 hour), then apply the second coat in the opposite direction. Total coverage should be at least 1.5L/m², forming a final dried film thickness of approximately 1.2mm. Coverage should extend up walls at least 150mm in general areas and 1800mm in shower recesses. Allow the membrane to cure fully before tiling or overcoating. Coverage: Approximately 1.5L per square metre for two coats, depending on surface porosity.
