The above information is offered for general guidance only. Method of ApplicationSurface preparationSurfaces must be clean, dry and free from all traces of grease, oil and dust. As a rule, the substrates must be prepared in accordance with the instructions given in the current Sika Pre-Treatment Chart. ApplicationCartridges: Cut tip to joint size.Puncture airtight seal. Install with hand or power operated gun.Unipacks: Place unipack in the application gun and snip off the closure clip. Cut off the tip of the nozzle to suit joint width and gun the sealant into the joint with a suitable compressed air or hand operated gun, taking care to avoid air entrapment. Once opened, packs should be used up within a relatively short space of time. Do not apply at temperatures below 40°F (5°C) or above 100°F (38°C). The optimum temperature for substrate and sealant is between 60°F (15°C) and 77°F (25°C). For advice on selecting and setting up a suitable pump system, please contact the System Engineering Department. Tooling and finishingTooling and finishing must be carried out within the tack-free time of the sealant. Finishing agents or lubricants must be tested for suitability/ compatibility. RemovalUncured Sikaflex®-227 can be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Strictly follow the solvent manufacturer's instructions for use and warnings.Hands and exposed skin should be washed immediately using a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water. Do not use solvents on the skin! OverpaintingSikaflex®-227 can be overpainted when tack-free. The paint and paint process must be tested for compatibility by carrying out preliminary trials. Sikaflex®-227 should not be exposed to baking temperatures until it has attained a full cure. It should be understood that the hardness and film thickness of the paint may impair the elasticity of the sealant and lead to cracking of the paint film with time.

A solvent-based, heat resistant, flexible contact adhesive suitable for bonding both absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. It forms an instant bond on contact of two surfaces. The gel form allows application without dripping or ‘stringing’. Great for vertical surfaces. Features Heat resistance up to 130C No clamping required Suitable for interior and exterior jobs Cured adhesive is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis Immediate set on contact. Maximum strength after 24 hours Gel Grip has a thicker consistency than Kwik Grip and so is ideal for vertical applications as it won’t run Gel form prevents running or stringing Easy to spread by brush and ideal for use on vertical surfaces Where can this product be used? Vertical surfaces where dripping and running is a concern Bonding veneers of timber and laminated plastics, eg. Laminex and Formica to bench or table tops Areas where clamping or pressing facilities are either not available or difficult to use Patching vinyl Flooring Replacing a vinyl tile Cork tiling Laying a vinyl floor Fixing laminate to tables, benchtops etc Repairing canvas tents and outdoor equipment Bonding metal or laminate sheeting Replacing trim, rubbers and weather seals in cars Adhering flexible or other material to Aluminium Joining, repairing holes in tents, car covers etc Some plastics such as vinyl sheeting and polystyrene are attacked by Gel Grip. Test in an inconspicuous area prior to application. Can cause discolouration and bubbling when used for vinyl flooring materials, seek the advice of flooring material manufacturer before using Gel Grip. We recommend Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications Contains highly flammable solvent and care should be taken to ensure all fire precautions are observed. Cannot be used for application in temperatures below 10oC. Suitable for porous materials but not for rough, ill-fitting surfaces. (Consider the suitability of alternative products such as Liquid Nails for rough ill-fitting surfaces). What materials is this product suitable for? Cork Rubber Felt Canvas Leather Metals Timber Laminated plastics (laminex, formica) Hardboard Compressed board How to use this product Ensure that surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease or paint. Cut laminated plastic sheet slightly oversize all round. Completely cover both surfaces with adhesive and keep apart until touch dry – no more than 40 minutes. Position the items carefully, still keeping surfaces apart with dowels or heavy craft paper and working from one edge press surfaces firmly together. Secure bond by running a roller over the bonded surfaces or else by hammering the surface from the centre outwards using a padded block. For bonding other materials, apply as for laminated plastics above. When small surface areas are to be joined a wet bond may be used. Simply apply Gel Grip to one surface then bring the surfaces together and clamp until dry. Handy tips Care should be taken to test plastics prior to use as solvents present will attack some grades such as polystyrene and sheet vinyl. Use Kwik Grip Advanced for these applications. Keep container sealed when not in use. Coverage – up to 5 square metres/litre (bonded area 2.5 square metres/litre) depending on porosity of surfaces and thickness of applications For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Cured adhesive is very difficult to remove. Tools and other equipment on which Gel Grip has dried may be cleaned by soaking in Toluol or lacquer thinner. Excess adhesive on the face of the jointed materials may also be removed with solvent, but care should be taken that the materials themselves are not damaged by the solvent. Safety tips Ensure thorough ventilation when using. Avoid using in a confined space for prolonged periods. Use Kwik Grip Advanced as a low fume alternative. Avoid skin contact as solvents in Gel Grip have a degreasing effect and may result in irritation. If in eyes flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes. Seek medical advice. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126 or New Zealand 0800 764 766. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Give a glass of water. Highly flammable. Do not use in the same area as flame, fire or spark producing apparatus or machinery. This product should NOT be accessible to juveniles, because of its solvent content. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which can be found at this site. Storage and re-use Clean Up While wet, adhesive can be removed using mineral turps. Store in a cool area away from ignition sources and out of direct sunlight.

Selleys Selleys Fix N Go Supa Glue Sets In 10 Seconds - For Non Pororus Surfaces 3ml

Sold Out  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Fast setting supa glue that dries colourless and sets in 10 seconds. Features Bonds a variety of surfaces Quick setting – only takes 10 seconds Dries clear, therefore no mess No mixing required No clamping necessary Heat resistant: approx 80C maximum Non toxic when set Water resistant Application range: -55°C to +80°C Where can this product be used? Ideal for small repair jobs or when immediate results are required Supa Glue will bond non-porous surfaces Supa Glue is water resistant not water proof, so do not use in areas continually exposed to moisture as it will weaken the bond. Supa Glue is generally not flexible and has low impact resistance. ie will probably shatter if dropped. For these applications use SELLEYS Quick Fix Shock Proof or SELLEYS Urethane Bond. Supa Glue’s bond strength is excellent where surfaces to be bonded are a good close fit. Where gap filling is required use SELLEYS URETHANE BOND or ARALDITE or for very minor gap filling you can use SELLEYS Quick Fix Gel. Supa Glue is not recommended for use on paper. Not suitable for bonding plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene or Teflon?. Supa Glue will not permanently bond glass or materials containing alkaline elements. What materials is this product suitable for? Rubber Some plastics Wood Metals How to use this product The seal at the end of the metal tube should be pierced carefully with the reverse end of the cap. Ensure that the tube is not squeezed while the seal is being pierced. Replace plastic nozzle. Surfaces to be bonded should fit exactly and should be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt and grease. Apply a drop of Supa Glue to only one of the surfaces to be joined. Use sparingly. Do NOT spread. (Note: One drop covers an area 25mm x 25mm)KEEP FINGERS AWAY FROM EXCESS ADHESIVE SO THEY WILL NOT STICK TOGETHER. Quickly align both surfaces and apply slight pressure to ensure effective spreading and bond. Should you fail to align the surfaces correctly, do not attempt to re-align them and bond together again. Keep apart and completely clean the surfaces (with acetone or nail polish remover). When dry, re-apply adhesive, re-align and bond again. (Please Note: NOT ALL Nail Polish Removers are ACETONE.) Although the adhesive will grab after several minutes to provide sufficient bond strength for practical use, maximum bond strength is achieved after 12 hours. Wipe tip of tube and replace cap. Handy tips Once open, Supa Glue has a limited shelf life (i.e. up to 1 year provided the tip is wiped clean and the cap replaced securely after each use). Supa Glue vapour can produce a whitening effect in enclosed spaces. To avoid this use in well ventilated areas. The whitening effect can be removed by wiping with acetone (first check that the acetone will not damage the surface). To remove from materials, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Note: This method should only be used for substrates NOT adversely affected by exposure to solvents. Check a small area before use. Storing in a refrigerator can reduce the risk of hardening in the tube. Also leaving a pin stuck in the (cleaned) nozzle during storage can reduce the risk of the nozzle becoming clogged with cured adhesive which is difficult to clear. One drop covers an area 25mm x 25mm Supa glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. Since Supa Glue cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. Safety tips Avoid contact with skin and eyes and avoid breathing its vapour. Supa Glue bonds on contact. Should fingers stick together, apply a solvent such as acetone to contact areas, then wash skin with water. Do NOT use solvents in contact with eyes or open wounds. In case of eye contact, immediately flush with water and seek medical attention. When removing Supa Glue from the skin, it is recommended that the skin be soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. If poisoning occurs, seek medical attention. Cured material is considered to be non-hazardous. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which can be found at this site. Storage and re-use Ensure cap is replaced and store in a cool dry place. Do not squeeze tube before removing cap. Handle tube by plastic nozzle neck when opening and closing cap. This prevents pressurizing tube which may force material into cap, preventing a tight seal after use. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Sold Out  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Selleys Fibreglass Fix Repair Kit is a complete kit containing polyester resin, a hardener and fibreglass mat, for repairs to fibreglass and a variety of other surfaces. Where can this product be used? Boat repairs including hull repairs Surfboard / Surfski repairs Automotive repairs Repairing a leaky gutter Patching downpipes Patching metal roofs or grass catchers Not approved for contact with drinking water What materials is this product suitable for? Fibreglass Plywood Metal Fibro Sheeting Most Plastics How to use this product Wear rubber or plastic gloves when handling fibreglass Surface Preparation Surfaces should be clean and dry and free from paint, grease and rust. Cut the fibreglass mat to shape, allowing approximately 3cm overlap all round. Tease out the fibres along the edge of the mat to give a feathered edge. For wide holes, glue a piece of cardboard to the back of the hole to form a base. Mixing: For each tablespoon of resin, squeeze 5 drops of hardener from the small tube and mix together thoroughly. Do not prepare the mixture until required as only a limited time (20 minutes at 20°C) is available before the product gels. Application Position the mat and apply resin/hardener mixture with a clean, dry brush. Be sure to impregnate the mat completely, working out all air bubbles. Add more mat and resin/hardener mixture to build up or contour the patch as required. Finishing When the patch has completely hardened, (approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the temperature), it can be sanded to a smooth finish. Fill imperfections with more resin. Paint if required. Clean up product with Solvent Acetone before it cures Handy tips At higher temperatures, the working time decreases. Can only be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments .which must be mixed in very thoroughly. Surfaces to be joined should be clean and dry. If recommended amounts of hardener are not used, cure time will vary or an incomplete cure may result. A useful solvent to clean up epoxy and polyester resins BEFORE they are cured can be prepared by mixing 2 parts toluene with 1 part alcohol (eg methylated spirits or denatured alcohol). In large amounts, heat can be generated during cure. Care should be taken on heat-sensitive surfaces with large amounts. Use recommended levels of hardener and resin; variation may result in incomplete cure and variations in cure time. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. Features Non-corrosive Weather resistant – resistant to water, weather or marine growth Rapid setting Impact resistant – can take knocks Sandable – can be sanded after 1-2 hours Can be painted over Extended working time – up to 20 minutes at 20°C Dries Opaque Heat resistant to 100°C

Bonds most materials within 30 seconds High-viscosity allows for greater accuracy and detail Large 100ml container Integrated nozzle for easy application Ritetite Control is a one-component gel super glue that bonds extremely quickly. It’s made with a specially designed thixotropic formula that instantly polymerises (hardens) by absorbing surface moisture. Its fast-curing properties make it an excellent choice for high-speed industrial applications that require a gel-like, viscous adhesive that does not spread or leak like traditional super glue. Ritetite Control works exceptionally well in poor-fitting applications such as rough metal or ceramic repairs, unfinished metal-to-metal bonding, and metal-to-rubber bonding due to its thick gel consistency. Surface Preparation prior to bonding with RITETITE CONTROL Surfaces should be clean, dry and grease-free before applying the adhesive. Use a suitable solvent (such as acetone or isopropanol) for the degreasing of surfaces. Some metals such as aluminum, copper and its alloys will benefit from light abrasion with emery cloth (or similar), to remove the oxide layer. RITETITE CONTROL Directions for use. 1) Apply the adhesive sparingly to one surface. 2) Then, bring the components together quickly and correctly aligned. 3) Apply sufficient pressure to ensure the adhesive spreads into a thin film. 4) Do not disturb or re-align until sufficient strength is achieved, normally in a few seconds. 5) Remove any surplus adhesive solvent, nitromethane, or acetone. NB: For difficult or porous surfaces using a RITETITE activator is recommended. If bonding polypropylene, polyethylene, PTFE or silicone, prime first with a suitable primer. For more information, download the Technical Data Sheet.

Selleys Selleys QuickFix Shock Proof Supa Glue Impact Heat Resistant Multipurpose Superglue 3ml

Sold Out  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Ultra-High strength supa glue that dries clear. Gives great strength as well as flexibility and heat resistance. Performance above and beyond normal Supa Glue. Features Bonds a variety of surfaces Extremely fast setting Dries Clear for clean, neat results Water resistant No clamping necessary No mixing required Maximum strength achieved in 12 hours Only takes 45 seconds to achieve an initial bond Self-piercing, clog-free cap Forms a strong, flexible bond Impact Resistant – 4 times greater impact resistance than normal supa glues Superior bond on metals – up to 6 times stronger bond on steel than normal supa glue. Up to 4 times stronger bond on aluminium than normal supa glues Heat Resistant to 120°C permanently, 150°C intermittently Comes with a nozzle for easy, accurate application Appearance Clear thick liquid dries to a colourless film. Where can this product be used? Ideal for small repair jobs or when immediate results are required Fixing a broken door knocker Refixing wooden or metal door handles Repairing crockery safe to put in the dishwasher Water resistant not waterproof, therefore not suitable for surfaces that will be continually wet Not suitable for bonding plastics such as Polypropylene and Polyethylene Not suitable for repairing items that are in direct contact with hot liquids eg saucepans Will not permanently bond glass or other materials containing alkaline elements Not recommended for highly porous surfaces What materials is this product suitable for? Bonds a variety of porous and non-porous surfaces Metals Wood China Rubber Leather (test first as leather may become hardened or discoloured) Some plastics How to use this product Supa Glue works best when the surfaces to be bonded are close fitting. Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust. Refer to handy hints for cleaning tips. Pierce seal at end of the tube by attaching nozzle and cap and turning clockwise. Remove cap and apply a small amount of glue to one surface. Bring surfaces together and apply slight pressure. Allow 12 hours for sufficient bond strength for practical use. Handy tips Supa Glue can create a white residue on the surface of materials if the area is not well ventilated. Clean the affected area with acetone to remove (most nail polish removers) residue. Excellent when used with other adhesives, as the temporary tack. For best results, ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, free of dust, dry and close fitting. After use, wipe excess product from the nozzle with a tissue dipped in nail polish remover. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. In the event that fingers get stuck together – don’t panic! Slowly twist fingers in the opposite direction in hot soapy water. Acetone (most nail polish removers) or Olive oil can also be used to remove Quick Fix from the skin. While supa glue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24 hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer. Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. Supa glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. To remove excess from materials, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of absorbant material (eg cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5 to 10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. TEST THE SURFACE IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using this method. Do not squeeze tube before removing the cap. Handle tube by plastic nozzle neck when opening and closing cap. This prevents pressurizing tube which may force material into the cap, preventing a tight seal after use. Safety tips Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour. Quick Fix is non-hazardous once cured. Where Quick Fix residues are on the skin, it is recommended that the skin is soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. Alternatively, rub in hand cream or vegetable oil to accelerate the natural process of the skin sloughing off to remove the residue. Where immediate adhesive removal is considered necessary to apply a solvent such as acetone (nail polish remover) then wash off with soapy water. Apply hand cream to replace naturals oils in the skin. Do not use near eyes or open wounds. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Non toxic when set. For further information refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), which can be found at this site. Storage and re-use After use, wipe excess product from nozzle with a tissue dipped in acetone (found in some nail polish removers). Wait for a few seconds and check that no further glue is extruding before replacing cap tightly. Ensure cap is replaced and store in a cool dry place. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
