Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, old grout, and other contaminants. For new tiling jobs, let tile adhesive set for at least 24 hours. For regrouting, completely remove old grout and thoroughly clean the joints. Application Instructions: Cut the cartridge tip and attach the nozzle. Trim to desired bead width. Using a caulking gun, apply grout into joints, pressing it in to eliminate air gaps. Smooth grout using a rubber float or grout applicator, working diagonally. Tip: hold float/squeegee at 45° angle; clean regularly. Clean up with water, before grout sets. Allow grout to firm up in joints for approx 20 min (longer in colder conditions). Using a damp (not wet) sponge, clean tile surfaces, by wiping lightly, in a circular motion. Finish with a single wipe diagonally across the tile with a clean damp ( not wet) sponge. Avoid repeated wiping as this may remove grout which is not yet fully set, from the joints. Buff and polish the tile surface, after 24hours, with a soft clean cloth. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

Handy tips -For filling only, can be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments which must be mixed in very thoroughly. -Softens at high temperatures, but strength returns when cooled. -Wear protective gloves and eye protection when mixing or using. -Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. -Clean up excess material with Acetone immediately. Once set the product cannot be removed easily -To remove product after cure, mechanical action (scraping or sanding) is recommended. Since the product is chemically resistant solvent will NOT dissolve this product. -To reposition the bond once cured, check that the item is heat resistant. If safe, heat the item slowly, e.g. in an oven, to at least 150oC. The product will soften and liquify slightly. Scrape off any excess then reposition the joint carefully using appropriate safety equipment. Allow the item to cool down in the correct position. The product will reharden once returned to room temperature. Tiles Metal Timber Rubber China Glass Leather Most plastics (not for polyethylene, polypropylene) How to use this product Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, free of grease, dirt and lose materials. For best results roughen bond area, prior to cleaning. Carefully cut the sealed tips at the end of the syringe nozzle. Dispense equal parts onto a clean disposable surface and mix together thoroughly to a uniform colour. Mixed glue remains usable for 1 hour. Apply mixed glue to both surfaces of the job then bring together. Do not apply undue strain to bond for 6-8 hours. Hold joint in place using tapes, clamps or weights if necessary for 24 hours. When applying underwater ensure mixed glue is pushed onto the surface firmly until the glue displaces water and adheres to surface. Handy tips For Aquariums allow to cure for at least 72 hours, then thoroughly wash out with water, drain and refill before introducing fish. Not approved for contact with drinking water – use Selleys Knead-It Aqua.
