Cut the seal and nozzle, fit it to the top of the cartridge, and insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as Selleys Light Speed Caulking Gun. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle and apply, forcing the product into the gap. Smooth with a wet finger or spatula. Clean up excess with a damp cloth immediately and clean hands and tools with water. Allow surface to skin thoroughly prior to painting with water-based paints. If using oil-based paints or for large gaps, allow the sealant to set for about 24 hours and ensure the product is completely cured. Avoid water contact until fully cured – 72 hours or longer in cold weather. Limitations Not recommended for foot traffic areas, gaps between tongue and groove boards, or weatherboard overlaps. Any loose flaking material must be removed and light sanding is recommended. SikaBond Fast will adhere to damp (not wet) substrates but drying times may increase. Substrates should be above 5ºC. Do not bond 2 non-porous substrates ensure that one surface is porous. Application Apply a 5 mm bead of SikaBond Fast to one surface using a cartridge gun; ensure the beads are no more than 45cm apart. Bring both substrates immediately together and clamp, nail or screw for a minimum of 24 hours. For butt joints use adhesive on both panel edges. Cleaning The uncured material can be cleaned with water. The hardened material can only be removed by mechanical means. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to air. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old flaky paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS KWIK STRIP SMART, and allow to dry. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Highly oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/ Course grain, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge. Cut the nozzle end to desired opening (approx. 5mm diameter). Fit to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of work which requires a caulking gun. Apply a bead of product along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. Fix the surfaces with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. The product is repositionable for up to 20 minutes after fitting. Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. For faster grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-5 minutes before firmly joining. The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In most situations strong bonds can be achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The product will fully cure up to 7 days. When the product is still wet it can be removed with mineral turpetine, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping, we recommend using a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper. Clean any excess from your hands with SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, apply a bead of Liquid nails into the groove or each board when installing. It has a thick, non-runny consistency and is ideal for adhering timbers and other porous construction materials. After drying it is beige (light tan) in colour. Simply roll into a ball in your hand. Non-toxic Directions: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, free from grease and lose materials. Tear off the amount you require, knead until supple. Roll into a ball. Place between surfaces to be fastened and press firmly, Ezy Tack performs best on non-porous surfaces, vinyl coated wallpapers, painted surfaces, glass, metal, etc. To remove Ezy Tack, ROLL IT OFF CAREFULLY from the surface. Any remaining shreds can be removed by rolling or dabbing a bigger piece of Ezy Tack over the area. Handy Tips: Do not use Ezy Tack on absorbent, silk-screen printed, hand-stencilled wallpaper, or recently decorated surfaces. On some surfaces, Ezy Tack may leave a faint oily mark but this can be removed using a citrus based stain remover. The adhesive qualities of Ezy Tack increase with time, so take extra care when removing it after a period of time.

In very cold weather, cartridge may need to be conditioned to room temperature for easier gunning. Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. (“zig-zag” beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are re-positionable for up to 20 mins after fitting Allow adhesives to set (at least 24 – 48 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.
