    Selleys Butyl Mastic is a synthetic resin, butyl rubber based mastic which forms a smooth tough skin, but remains permanently plastic underneath. It is available Off White. It is recommended to use silicone sealant in thinner joints Easy smoothing and clean-up with mineral turps or white spirits Where can this product be used? Sealing aluminium windows to masonry. Sealing joints between pre-cast concrete panels or porcelain enamelled panels. Sealing edges of all types of wallboards or wherever a permanent waterproof seal is required. Sealing lap joints between metal applications with the inclusion of fasteners. Ideal for dust proofing cars, trucks, caravans, boats, etc. and is suitable for sealing cracks and gaps around brickwork, roofing and cladding.  What materials is this product suitable for? Please contact your store to confirm avaliability, as some stores may have a limited range. The following should only be used as a guide and the installer should apply all Australian Standards, BCA/NZBC requirements, and best practices when installing. Surfaces to be sealed must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, old mastic and  flaking paint. If necessary clean with degreasing solvent such as white spirits. Cut nozzle supplied at an angle and to the required opening. Cut end off nipple on cartridge, fit nozzle and insert in suitable caulking gun such as the Selleys Light Speed caulking gun. If sealing lap joints, apply suitable size bead of Butyl Mastic to one surface through the intended fasten line. Bring surfaces together squeezing the mastic bead out on both surfaces and mechanically fix join where necessary. If sealing open joints, apply Butyl Mastic by forcing it into the joint ahead of the nozzle. This method aids in properly filling the joint and forcing mastic to wet on to the sides of the joint. If required, smooth surface with spatula dipped into mineral turps. Limitations: Not an elastomeric compound, it should not be used in joints subject to considerable dynamic movement. Should not be used where joint movement will exceed ±8%. Maximum service is achieved when used within joints; it is not recommended to be used as a "skim" coating over joints. Not recommended for use in joints required to resist static air or water pressure.  Surfaces must be clean and dry. Life expectancy in joints is approximately 5 years Interior applications may have greatly extended skin over time due to the reduced presence of sunlight. Allow surface to skin before painting, i.e. approximately 24 hours after application. Butyl Mastic can be painted over using oil or water based paints after the surface has skinned.

    Selleys Brick and Concrete Silicone is a neutral (non-corrosive) cure 100% silicone sealant. It is low modulus or can be stretched easily, which makes it ideal for joints which will move significantly such as expansion joints in concrete, and is grey so it will blend in with the concrete surrounds. Features Superior flexibility +/- 25% movement capability & up to 500% elongation or stretch. Superior silicone formulation forms a durable seal which locks out water and which does not shrink when drying. UV and weather resistant – Immune to the damaging effects of the sun. Temperature resistance – approximately -60°C +150°C. Superior adhesion to concrete and fibre cement surfaces. Low odour so can be used in any environment without discomfort. 25 year guarantee – when used as directed, i.e. for private use and within 12 months of purchase, the product is guaranteed against crumbling, cracking or drying. Bricks and mortar Ceramics and porcelain Concrete Fibre cement Marble & stone Metal Wood Many plastics including polystyrene How to use this product Throughly clean and dry surface from oil, dirt and grease with Mineral Turpentine firstly and then Methylated Spirits. Allow to dry completely before applying silicone. If there old silicone which needs to be removed, we recommend using SELLEYS SILICONE REMOVER, this ingenous product makes removing old silicone easy. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safety tips Uncured product may irritate eyes. If in eyes, flood the eyes for at least 15 minutes and seek medical advice. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Ensure you use a well-ventilated area as product releases methyl ethyl ketoxime while curing. Keep away from children. Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

It is suitable for substrates such as fibre cement sheeting and Magnum Boards. FX Super Base Coat X is part 1 of a high-performance, integrated compound system. Developed by FX Australia and manufactured locally, the use of all products in the Compound System guarantees a time-saving, superior finish and greater strength for substrates. Features Benefits Water-based Ease of application Strong Easy spreading Flexible Time-saving Water-resistant Easy clean-up Pre-mixed Uses FX Super Base Coat X is used for fixing fibre cement sheets and Magnum Board joints. Surface Preparation All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and free of dirt, dust and grease. Substrates need to be constructed or installed to industry/Australian Standards. Application: Load FX Super Base Coat X onto hawke using a 150 mm – 200 mm broad knife/trowel and place in to the joint recess, working steadily from one end to the other of the joint recess, ensuring the Compound fills the joint recess and is evenly and smoothly applied. Next embed fibre-fuse tape into the Compound. Scrape off any excess Compound. Note, for added strength and confidence load FX Super Base Coat X in to the joint recess over the fibrefuse tape, working steadily from one end to the other of the joint recess, ensuring the Compound fills the joint recess and is evenly and smoothly applied. Ensure force is applied to properly embed Compound and fibre-fuse tape into the recess. Allow first coat of FX  uper Base Coat X to dry for a minimum of 3–4 hours at 25 °C and 50% humidity. Apply a second coat of FX Super Base Coat X using the same method as the first coat. Ensure the  compound is flush with the sheets. Scrape off any excess Compound. Allow to dry for 3–4 hours at 25 °C and 50% humidity before proceeding to product 2, FX Topping Compound X, or proceed straight to water-proofing system or texture-coating system. Important Note: Clean tools frequently with water and a sponge to stop Compound drying on tools. Approximate Spreading Rate: N/A.     A ready-mixed filler that dries hard to a durable finish for deep and wide cracks in mortar, concrete, cement render and brick. Water, weather, UV, algae and mould resistant Can be tooled to a render texture or sanded to a smooth finish. For use on: Bricks, concrete, bare or painted cement render & other masonry surfaces (EXTERIOR & INTERIOR) Fill depth: Up to 10mm Dries in: 3 hours Ready to use: YES Colour: Cement grey in colour but can be painted over with both oil and water based paints • Ensure surfaces are clean and free from dust, grease, mould/algae and  flaking/powdery paint or material. If necessary wash with Poly Sugar Soap. • Rinse thoroughly and allow surface to dry. • Use flexible filling blade to press filler into hole, or trowel to spread a thin layer over surface, and tool to a feathered edge. • Allow to dry (2–3 hours in thin 2–3mm applications, depending on temperature and humidity) before sanding and painting. Allow longer drying times (24 hours minimum) if painting with oil based  paints, for deeper applications or in colder weather. • For deeper jobs apply in 10mm layers, allowing each layer to dry before applying the rest. • Protect from rain until dry. If required, paint with a quality exterior coating. • For a render texture smooth out with trowel or filling blade when applying the product and do not sand. For a smoother texture sand surface after drying. • For best results, apply undercoat before applying water or oil based top coat. • Where joint movement occurs, use a flexible Poly sealant. • Clean up with water before filler dries.

Easy to sand, sets to a super hard finish and is highly crack resistant. FAQ's Q. Should I use a different filler in damp areas? A. Yes. Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen has been specially formulated to resist water, moisture and mould growth making it perfect for use in damp areas of the home. HOW TO PREPARE A BATHROOM OR KITCHEN FOR PAINTING The key to achieving a flawless paint finish is preparation. A fresh coat of paint can often accentuate imperfections on plaster walls so it's important that small cracks, dents and chips are properly filled and sanded to create a smooth, even surface for a picture-perfect finish. In areas affected by moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries we recommend using products specially designed to resist mould growth.    Before starting on your walls, it's a good idea to clear your bathroom or kitchen of accessories and appliances. Use good quality drop sheets to avoid getting paint and dust on benchtops, sinks and floor surfaces.  You'll need: Poly Sugar Soap Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen A flexible filling blade  Fine sandpaper A soft brush Painters tape Ensure your walls have no remaining nails, pins, etc. With fine sandpaper, remove lumps, bumps and any paint flakes. Brush off excess dust and then wash down the walls thoroughly with Poly Sugar Soap to remove mould, grease and grime. Let the sugar soap dry completely before filling.  Apply a small amount of Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen to your filling blade and draw it across each imperfection on the wall. For larger areas, a trowel should be used. Using the filling blade, remove excess and skim the filled areas lightly in both directions a few times to ensure a no air bubbles are present in the filled space. Feathering the edges will also minimise sanding. Finish by drawing down with firm pressure.  Wait until the application has dried (2-3 hours for thin 2-3mm applications depending on humidity), then lightly sand the filled areas to an even finish. Remove dust with a soft brush. Allow longer drying times for deeper applications or if painting with oil-based paints (24 hours minimum). There is no need to use water or sugar soap to clean dry filled surfaces prior to painting. For deeper jobs, apply in 10mm layers allowing each layer to set before applying the next layer.    Taping Invest in a good painterís tape and carefully tape off any skirting, architraves, woodwork, etc. As you apply it, gently rub across the edge of the tape that will be painted to help prevent any paint from seeping underneath Now you've created a smooth, blemish-free surface, youíre ready to paint and achieve a perfect finish! For best results, apply paint undercoat before applying your top coat.
