Description
Dunlop Flexible FC Jointing Compound is a premixed, flexible compound for jointing fibre cement sheet and blueboard before decorative coatings are applied. Because it comes ready to use straight from the pail, there is no on-site mixing, no powder mess and no guesswork about water ratios — simply open, stir and trowel. The flexible formulation accommodates the minor movement typical of sheeted walls, while its excellent adhesion delivers a reliable, crack-resistant joint. The compact 3kg pail is ideal for smaller sheeting jobs and repairs.
Where to use it
Use on interior and exterior walls to finish joints between fibre cement sheets and blueboard prior to painting, texture coating or rendering. It is the recommended first step in preparing sheeted facades, extensions and infill panels for a decorative finish.
How to use
Ensure sheets are securely fixed and joints are clean, dry and free of dust. Where the sheet system requires it, embed jointing tape in a first application of compound. Apply the compound over the joint with a trowel or broad knife in a band roughly 75mm wide and about 1mm thick, feathering the edges smooth into the sheet face. Allow to dry fully before over-coating with paint, texture or render. Tools clean up with water while the compound is wet. Coverage is approximately 7 lineal metres per kilogram at a 75mm width and 1mm thickness — around 21 lineal metres from this 3kg pail.
Important notes
Not a structural adhesive or gap filler for moving joints wider than the system allows — use a flexible sealant at designed movement joints. Cold or humid conditions extend drying time. Reseal the pail after use to keep the remainder workable.
