Description
Scotch Multipurpose Gel Tape is a clear, double-sided mounting tape for hanging frames, mirrors, posters and wall decor without drilling, nails or screws, supplied here as a single 30mm x 1.5m roll. It is a removable option for DIYers and decorators who want a tidy, no-drill way to put things on the wall and take them down again later.
About the product
A transparent gel-style tape with adhesive on both sides, so it stays discreet once the item is mounted. It is sold for both light and heavier mounting jobs on hard, smooth surfaces and is designed to release when you want to take the item down, which makes it a good fit for rental-friendly decorating and creative projects. The tape is sold as a roll, so you can cut it to the length each job needs.
Where to use it
Indoors: hanging picture frames and mirrors, putting up lightweight posters and wall decor, and mounting smaller household items to hard, smooth surfaces.
Craft and decorating: temporary display and feature-wall ideas where you want to avoid holes in the wall.
Suitable surfaces include metal, tempered glass, tile, painted wood, smooth stone, brick, vinyl siding and acrylic. The surface should be hard and smooth.
How to use it
Clean the surface so it is free of dust, grease and moisture, and let it dry fully. Cut the tape to length, press it firmly onto the back of the item, then press the item firmly against the mounting surface. Follow the directions printed on the pack for the weight rating and how long to wait before hanging heavier items. To remove, follow the pack instructions for releasing the tape, and clean off any leftover residue gently.
Important notes
Not recommended for delicate surfaces such as painted plasterboard or wallpaper, because removal may damage the finish. Always test on a small, hidden area first, particularly on painted or sensitive surfaces. Do not exceed the weight rating stated on the pack, and check the item is secure before leaving it unattended. Textured, dusty or porous surfaces will reduce grip.
