Easy to sand, sets to a super hard finish and is highly crack resistant. Filling blade included For use on: Plasterboard, concrete, timber & primed metal (INTERIOR & EXTERIOR) Fill depth: Up to 3mm Dries in: 3 hours Ready to use: YES Available in: 330mL & 770mL Colour: White  • Surface to be filled should be clean and dry with no loose or powdery material. • Using the attached filling blade press filler in firmly and remove excess. * Allow to dry for 2-3 hours in thin 2-3mm applications, depending on humidity. Allow longer drying times if painting with oil based paint and for deeper applications. • Sand with fine sandpaper. For a perfect finish after initial sanding back, apply another very thin coat of filler, allow to dry and sand lightly with very fine (400grit) sandpaper before painting. • Protect from rain until painted over. • Not for exterior timber likely to absorb excessive amount of water. • Use Polyfilla Gap filler or silicone sealant where joint movement occurs. • Clean up with water before filler dries Q. Why should I use a specialised filler under gloss paints? A. Gloss paints show up every flaw and bump on surfaces. Therefore, a specialised filler that ensures an extremely smooth, hard, "glass-like" finish is preferred for the ultimate flawless, flat surface. Polyfilla Trim and Doors is the ideal filler under gloss paints. It also gives perfect gloss retention so you won't notice a 'dull' spot under the paint. You should also apply an undercoat before the final coat of paint for the best results.

Poly Polyfilla Timber Filler 6mm Interior Dries in 2 Hours 390g

In Stock - Ready to ship  Express Post: 1-3 Days | Standard Post: 2-5 Days

Ideal for filling holes, cracks, dents, chips and grain imperfections on interior timber surfaces. Can be nailed or planed. Easy to sand, sets to a hard finish and is highly crack resistant. Filling blade included For use on: Timber (INTERIOR) Fill depth: Up to 6mm Dries in: 2-3 hours Ready to use: YES Colour: Produces a pine finish that can be tinted or stained. Application Tips • Surface to be filled should be clean and dry with no loose or powdery material. • Using the attached filling blade press filler in firmly and remove excess. * Allow drying for 2-3 hours in 2-3mm thin applications, depending on humidity. Allow longer drying if painting with solvent-based coatings (24 hours minimum) or for deeper applications. • Sand with fine sandpaper. For a perfect finish after initial sanding back, apply a thin coat of filler, allow to dry and sand lightly with very fine (400 grit) sandpaper before staining or coating. • When tinting or staining, the final colour is not achieved until the varnish is applied. • Prime metals (eg, nail heads) before applying filler. • Use Polyfilla Gap filler or silicone sealant where joint movement occurs. • Clean up with water before filler dries Q. I want a filler that matches the colour of the timber I am repairing. What should I use? A. The best idea is to custom tint/stain a filler to match your timber, rather than buy a pre-tinted colour filler. This allows you the flexibility to adjust to the shade you require, rather than having the colour dictated by the manufacturer. For interior timbers, use Polyfilla Timber Filler. If you require a wood filler that can be exposed to the elements, use Polyfilla Exterior Timber, which flexes with the natural movement of wood. Note: When tinting /staining, the final colour is not achieved until a varnish is applied. It is worth testing first on an off-cut or inconspicuous area to see if the correct colour match is achieved.

FAQ's Q. Should I use a different filler in damp areas? A. Yes. Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen has been specially formulated to resist water, moisture and mould growth making it perfect for use in damp areas of the home. HOW TO PREPARE A BATHROOM OR KITCHEN FOR PAINTING The key to achieving a flawless paint finish is preparation. A fresh coat of paint can often accentuate imperfections on plaster walls so it's important that small cracks, dents and chips are properly filled and sanded to create a smooth, even surface for a picture-perfect finish. In areas affected by moisture such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries we recommend using products specially designed to resist mould growth.    Before starting on your walls, it's a good idea to clear your bathroom or kitchen of accessories and appliances. Use good quality drop sheets to avoid getting paint and dust on benchtops, sinks and floor surfaces.  You'll need: Poly Sugar Soap Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen A flexible filling blade  Fine sandpaper A soft brush Painters tape Ensure your walls have no remaining nails, pins, etc. With fine sandpaper, remove lumps, bumps and any paint flakes. Brush off excess dust and then wash down the walls thoroughly with Poly Sugar Soap to remove mould, grease and grime. Let the sugar soap dry completely before filling.  Apply a small amount of Polyfilla Bathroom & Kitchen to your filling blade and draw it across each imperfection on the wall. For larger areas, a trowel should be used. Using the filling blade, remove excess and skim the filled areas lightly in both directions a few times to ensure a no air bubbles are present in the filled space. Feathering the edges will also minimise sanding. Finish by drawing down with firm pressure.  Wait until the application has dried (2-3 hours for thin 2-3mm applications depending on humidity), then lightly sand the filled areas to an even finish. Remove dust with a soft brush. Allow longer drying times for deeper applications or if painting with oil-based paints (24 hours minimum). There is no need to use water or sugar soap to clean dry filled surfaces prior to painting. For deeper jobs, apply in 10mm layers allowing each layer to set before applying the next layer.    Taping Invest in a good painterís tape and carefully tape off any skirting, architraves, woodwork, etc. As you apply it, gently rub across the edge of the tape that will be painted to help prevent any paint from seeping underneath Now you've created a smooth, blemish-free surface, youíre ready to paint and achieve a perfect finish! For best results, apply paint undercoat before applying your top coat.

Can be nailed and screwed without splitting or breaking.  Will not shrink when used in accordance with directions, making it suitable for use in patching steps, paths, paving etc. For use on: Bricks, cement, stone and other masonry surfaces (EXTERIOR). May be used in interior wet areas and as ceramic floor tile cement. Fill depth: Dependent on mix ratio Dries in: 5-6 hours for sanding. Allow 24 hours before painting. Ready to use: NO (mix with water) Available in: 500g & 2kg Colour: Grey and can be tinted by adding cement colorants to the mixing water. Application tips: • Surface to be filled should be clean and dry with no loose or powdery material. Do not wet or prime surfaces before filling. • Coat nail heads with oil based paint prior to filling to prevent rust staining. • Add 4 parts Polyfilla Exterior Powder Filler to 1 part water in a clean container and mix thoroughly into a smooth paste. Use mix within 30 minutes and do not add water to extend working time. • For deeper cracks and holes and on very absorbent surfaces it is advisable to use a slightly stiffer (less water) mix. • Use a clothes peg to reseal the pack. • Press in the mixed filler with a filling knife or trowel and finish with a slightly rounded surface. Where a smooth surface is required, slightly overfill the surface, allow to dry (approx. 5-6 hours), then sand smooth with medium grade sandpaper. • Leave for 24 hours, and then apply a suitable primer/undercoat before painting. • When applying in thin layers, do not over trowel. • Clean up with water before filler dries

A flexible multipurpose gap filler, to fill gaps around cornice, wall joints, skirting board, window and door frames where where movement causes ordinary fillers to crack or fall out. For use on: Wood, brick, aluminium, glass, plasterboard, ceramic tiles and painted surfaces (INTERIOR & EXTERIOR) Coverage: 30m/3mm bead. Dry time: Skins in 30 minutes at 25°C. Full cure in 7days. Ready to use: YES Available in: 475g Colour: White NOTE: Not for fine joints between tongue and groove boards or weatherboard overlaps. • Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from oil, dust, grease, flaking paint and old sealant. • Using caulking gun, push sealant ahead of nozzle forcing it onto the surface and into the joint. Ensure the sealant is touching both sides of the gap. • Smooth with wet finger or knife and remove excess sealant immediately with a damp cloth. • Allow sealant to skin approx 30 min before painting with water-based paints. • Allow to set for 48 hours if using oil based paint or if joint is large. • Some water-based undercoats and flat paints may crack on drying. Test a small section of sealant. Paint cracking may be reduced by using a vinyl/ acrylic semi glossed paint or oil based undercoats first, or by allowing the sealant to cure thoroughly before painting. • Do not use outside if rain is imminent, not for contantly damp areas. • Painting improves exterior durability. • Use Poly silicone sealants for a watertight seal or where movement is excessive. • Water clean up Q. How do I fill gaps between my wooden window frames and inside wall? A. You're dealing with two different materials here, plaster and wood. To allow for differential movement between them, use Polyfilla Gap Filler, wiping off any excess with a damp cloth. Q. I painted over the areas where I used Polyfilla Gap Filler and now cracks have appeared. Why has this happened? A. If the gap filler was not cured sufficiently before it was painted over, cracks can occur as the gap filler shrinks. To prevent this, allow 48 hours drying time when you are filling large gaps or painting with oil-based paints. Also, some water based undercoats and paints shrink during drying and as Polyfilla Gap Filler is flexible, it won't stop cracks appearing in the shrinking paint on its surface. Test the paint on a small section of gap filler and if this is a problem you can reduce cracking by allowing the filler to cure thoroughly or by first coating it with a vinyl/acrylic semi-gloss or oil-based undercoat. Q. Why does my gap filler keeps cracking? A. It is important to remember that the width of a gap affects how much the product can move. Fine cracks less than 2mm allow the gap filler to move only very tiny amounts before it may crack again. It is best to ensure that you have at least 3mm worth of product so you can maximise the movement capability of your joint.

PC-7® is the original tough job epoxy! This paste epoxy was originally formulated more than 60 years ago for the maximum in bonding power. Professionals to the do-it-yourselfers select PC-7® because of its exceptional adhesion to metals, ceramics, masonry and many plastics. PC-7® is designed for permanent repairs. Where other adhesives fail…PC-7® won’t! Choose PC-7® if you want to: seal a crack in a wall, attach a hanger to a ceramic plaque, seal a leak in an oil pan, repair a granite monument, fix a leak in PVC pipe connection, create a multimedia sculpture, and thousands of other repairs. When mixed, part A (gray) and the hardener part B (black) react to form a bond of tremendous strength. The PC-7® formulation is slow curing, but slow can be a good thing especially for large tasks. WORKING TIME: 60 MINUTES CURE TIME: 24 HOURS (48 HOURS FOR FULL CURE) PC-7® is thick. Thick is good if you need to work vertically or want to hold an object in place. How thick? Thicker than peanut butter but not as thick as bubble gum. Here are just a few specific uses (there are hundreds of other uses): Bond metal electrical boxes to concrete wall. Fill cracks in basement walls. Rebuild vintage Bakelite steering wheels. Seal holes in oil and transmission pans or fuel tank. Bond and repair stainless steel. Attach transition strips on concrete floor. Attach firing strips to concrete wall. Bond to and rebuild hard rubber bumper. How to prepare a surface for bonding with PC-7 Epoxy Paste Remove contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil and grime with solvents such as Denatured Alcohol, Acetone, Rubbing Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or Lacquer Thinner. Mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Do not use Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner for removing contaminants. Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper or wire brush. Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be scuffed using sandpaper to increase adhesion. How to clean-up after PC-7 Epoxy Paste application Use Denatured Alcohol, Acetone, Rubbing Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or Lacquer Thinner to clean tools and mixing surface before PC-7® cures. Clean hands and skin with soap and water. Cured epoxy can be removed by applying Paint Remover or Paint Stripper to soften the epoxy surface. Scratch off the softened epoxy. Repeat as needed. How thick can I apply PC-7®? PC-7® can be applied in any thickness. It does not require drying or exposure to air. It will cure from the inside out. I made a repair with PC-7® but need to build the area up more. Can I apply more epoxy? PC-7® sticks to PC-7® Can I use PC-7® for a vertical repair? PC-7® can be applied vertically and overhead. Because of its high viscosity it will not drip or sag. How long does it take PC-7® to harden? Normally, at 70F, PC-7® will cure in 24 hours but full hardness can take up to 48 hours. Cooler conditions will extend the cure time. Working in a garage or outside in temperatures between 50F and 60F may double the length of time needed for full cure. Applying PC-7® to a cool surface such as an exterior facing wall will slow down the cure. Can I paint over PC-7® and if so how? PC-7® should be primed then painted. Use Zinser Bullseye® 1,2,3 Stain Sealing Primer or Kilz® Premium Stain Sealing Primer or INSL-X® Stix Bonding Primer. Priming/sealing is important to separate and protect the finish coat from the epoxy/amine surface. Can I use PC-7® on a finished surface? Smooth, glossy or shiny surfaces should be roughened or scuffed with sandpaper to provide maximum adhesion. Use 80 or 120 grit sandpaper. A roughened surface has much more surface area than a smooth surface. PC-7® is very thick. Can I smooth it out or thin it out? Use a solvent such as Denatured Alcohol, Acetone, Rubbing Alcohol or Lacquer thinner to smooth applied PC-7®. Be-cause PC-7® is very thick and gooey, it is necessary to apply alcohol or acetone to the tool or gloved fingertips in order to lubricate the surface and shape or feather the applied epoxy. Can I use more of one part of PC-7® in order to speed the curing? Adding additional hardener does not make PC-7® cure faster. It is best to mix PC-7® one part of A to one part of B. However, PC-7® is probably the only epoxy that does not require precisely a 1:1 mix ratio. Plus or minus 25% A or B does not affect the performance. Adding additional PC-7® (+50%) part B hardener (black) can improve the adhesion to difficult surfaces such as PVC pipe and fittings. Measure equal volumes of part A epoxy (gray) and part B hardener (black) then measure an additional half portion of hardener (black). This will make the mix ratio (1 : 1.5, A : B). Can I tint PC-7® to match a surrounding color? PC-7® can be tinted with iron oxide or carbon pigments. Powdered pigments are used to color stucco or concrete and can be found at art supply stores. Universal tints that are used to color paint are compatible with PC-7®. Too much tint may affect the performance of PC-7®. I want to do a repair outdoors and the epoxy seems really stiff? PC-7® becomes more viscous in cool temperatures. Set the containers in a warm place prior to mixing. Acetone has been used to reduce the viscosity of PC-7®. The addition of acetone will contribute to shrinking and slow down the cure rate. PC-7® performs best without the addition of solvents. What will PC-7® bond to? It is easier to say what PC-7® will NOT bond to: Wax paper, Teflon, Plexiglass, vinyl and some softer plastics. Test an area if in doubt and always rough up shiny, smooth surfaces with sandpaper.

Can PC-11® be used in Aquariums? There is the potential for PC-11® part A and part B to harm sea life but properly measured and mixed PC-11® has been used safely in fresh and saltwater aquariums. It is important that part A and B are thoroughly and completely mixed. What plastics does PC-11® stick to? PC-11® has good adhesion to Rigid PVC and CPVC, polyester and fiberglass, polyurethane, ABS and Bakelite. What plastics does PC-11® not stick to? PC-11® does not stick to polyethylene, polypropylene, HDPE, polystyrene, nylon, acrylic, Teflon, and polycarbonate. What rubbers does PC-11® stick to? Gel coat will not cure properly in direct contact with PC-11®. It is important that repairs made with PC-11® be sealed with a suitable primer/sealer before applying a gel coat. Can PC-11® be painted? Yes. It is good practice to apply a premium stain sealing primer to repairs made with PC-11® prior to the finish coat. Will PC-11® yellow in direct sunlight? Yes, PC-11® yellows in direct sunlight. PC-11® resists ultraviolet light but will still gradually change colour. Prime and paint if the colour is important. Can PC-11® be thinned with solvent? PC-11® does not contain solvents. Acetone and denatured alcohol (ethanol) are compatible but will extend the cure time and decrease the hardness. Other solvents such as mineral spirits, paint thinner and turpentine are not compatible. PC-11® is a simple one to one mix, but how accurately does the measurement need to be? The volume of part A to part B should be close to equal. A slight excess of part A is preferable to an excess of part B. Excess of part B will not accelerate the curing and it may make it softer.
