Instructions for Use Surface Preparation All surfaces must be clean, sound, dry and free of oil, grease and surface contamination. Thoroughly remove all loose particles and dust. Any loose flaking must be removed and light sanding is recommended. Application One Way Method: This method is recommended for heavier panels or where load or stress is expected. Apply a 4 to 6mm bead of SikaBond using a cartridge gun, making sure the beads are no more than 45cm apart. Bring both substrates immediately together and clamp, nail or screw for a minimum of 24 hours. For butt joints use adhesive on both panel edges. Two Way Method: Apply adhesive as in one way method, bring together substrates, and press firmly over entire surface to transfer adhesive. Then pull apart. Allow adhesive to tack off for 3 to 5 minutes depending on weather conditions, reposition the objects and press together firmly. The surfaces should be tapped together with a hammer and a padded block to ensure maximum contact. Maximum bond strength will be achieved in 12 to 72 hours, depending on substrates and weather. Heavy panels may require temporary mechanical fastening until maximum strength is achieved.

Fibreglass Plywood Metal Fibro Sheeting Most Plastics How to use this product Wear rubber or plastic gloves when handling fibreglass Surface Preparation Surfaces should be clean and dry and free from paint, grease and rust. Cut the fibreglass mat to shape, allowing approximately 3cm overlap all round. Tease out the fibres along the edge of the mat to give a feathered edge. For wide holes, glue a piece of cardboard to the back of the hole to form a base. Mixing: For each tablespoon of resin, squeeze 5 drops of hardener from the small tube and mix together thoroughly. Do not prepare the mixture until required as only a limited time (20 minutes at 20°C) is available before the product gels. Application Position the mat and apply resin/hardener mixture with a clean, dry brush. Be sure to impregnate the mat completely, working out all air bubbles. Add more mat and resin/hardener mixture to build up or contour the patch as required. Finishing When the patch has completely hardened, (approximately 1-2 hours, depending on the temperature), it can be sanded to a smooth finish. Fill imperfections with more resin. Paint if required. Clean up product with Solvent Acetone before it cures Handy tips At higher temperatures, the working time decreases. Can only be tinted with iron oxide or other dry pigments .which must be mixed in very thoroughly. Surfaces to be joined should be clean and dry. If recommended amounts of hardener are not used, cure time will vary or an incomplete cure may result. A useful solvent to clean up epoxy and polyester resins BEFORE they are cured can be prepared by mixing 2 parts toluene with 1 part alcohol (eg methylated spirits or denatured alcohol). In large amounts, heat can be generated during cure. Care should be taken on heat-sensitive surfaces with large amounts. Use recommended levels of hardener and resin; variation may result in incomplete cure and variations in cure time. Before starting, make sure your work area is protected from accidental spills. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease and oil. 2. Roughen smooth surfaces to be repaired with sandpaper. 3. Apply in ventilated area. Vapors may irritate eyes and nose. 4. Squeeze out equal amounts of bonding agent and curing agent. 5. Mix together thoroughly until color is uniform. 6. Apply immediately to both surfaces and press together. Remove excess glue at once. 7. Allow bond to set for 10 minutes before moving or handling. 8. After 24 hours, typical shear strength on steel is 3000 PSI. 9. Cure time will be slower in colder weather. For Cleanup 1. Cleanup must be completed before curing is complete. Use acetone or mineral spirits for cleanup. 2. Clean hands with Permatex Fast Orange hand cleaners. They react to produce a hard, tough, permanent and waterproof bond on a wide range of materials. Loctite® Repair Putty Multi-Purpose does not shrink and is resistant to most common solvents. It can bond to damp surfaces and cure under water. Loctite Epoxy Putty can be sanded, drilled and painted. Applications above 121°C (250°F). Polyethylene and polypropylene. Structural applications. Safety Precautions Wear gloves. Preparation Surfaces should be clean and free from grease and oil. For better adhesion, slightly roughen the surface with a wire brush or sandpaper prior to cleaning. Cut off desired length of Epoxy Putty and knead until uniform color is obtained. Putty turns from blue to white when completely mixed. Application Apply the putty to surface to be repaired within 3 minutes of mixing. Work putty firmly into the crack or hole. For bonding, place the putty between the surfaces and apply firm pressure to ensure intimate contact with both surfaces. If applying to a wet surface, apply forcefully and hold in place until adhesion takes effect. For a smooth finish, rub the putty with a damp cloth prior to hardening. Working time is approximately 5 minutes. After 45 minutes, the putty can be sanded, drilled or painted. Cleanup Cured putty may be cut away with caution using a sharp blade.

Clean off loose rust and dirt from the damaged area of muffler or tailpipe with sandpaper or a steel wire brush. Wear goggles as eye protection 2. Warm-up muffler, peel back the red overlay on both sides of bandage and then wrap the clear center around the damaged area- overlapping 10-15mm 3. Run the motor or drive for approximately 30 minutes. The heat from the exhaust chemically welds the epoxy in the bandage into one solid protective coating NOTE: For small repairs use Loctite Muffler Putty (MP2). When repairing large holes use a piece of sheet metal ie beer can, wired between the hole and the bandage as reinforcement. The exhaust heat will harden it to a hard, protective coating.

Keep away from eyes. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors. Apply in a well ventilated area. Open windows and doors to achieve good cross-ventilation. Wear safety glasses to protect eyes, and rubber or plastic gloves to protect skin. Step 2: Preparation Protect work area. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, wax and paint. For better adhesion, roughen smooth surfaces prior to cleaning. Pre-fit parts to be joined. Pierce tube nozzles using the reverse side of the caps. Squeeze out equal amounts of resin and hardener on a clean, disposable surface. Prepare only as much as can be used within 3 minutes of mixing. Recap tubes immediately after use. Match the black cap with the resin and the white cap with the hardener. Mix resin and hardener together for approximately 1 minute or until it is uniform in color. Step 3: Application Apply to surfaces to be filled or bonded. Join and press parts together. When bonding butt joints, adhesive should be applied as a reinforcing fillet or splint over the joint for additional support. Remove any excess glue immediately with acetone, mineral spirits or rubbing alcohol. Support until bond sets in 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature. Parts can be handled within 15 minutes and machined within 16 to 24 hours. Cure time is lengthened in cooler temperatures and shortened in warmer weather. Step 4: Cleanup Clean excess glue immediately with acetone before adhesive sets. Cured adhesive may be cut away with caution using a sharp blade. Prolonged immersion in paint stripper will soften the cured adhesive to aid removal.
