While supa glue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24 hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer. Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. Supa glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Keep a canister of SELLEYS Sugar Soap Wipes nearby for a quick and effective cleanup. To remove excess from materials, it is recommended that the material be soaked in a solution of acetone and water (i.e. 3 parts acetone to 1 part water). Where soaking is not possible, try placing a piece of absorbant material (eg cotton wool) soaked in acetone on the excess for 5 to 10 minutes, topping up the acetone if it evaporates. Gently rub the surface with the material to remove the residues. TEST THE SURFACE IN AN INCONSPICUOUS SPOT to ensure it is unaffected by acetone before attempting removal using this method. Do not squeeze tube before removing the cap. Handle tube by plastic nozzle neck when opening and closing cap. This prevents pressurizing tube which may force material into the cap, preventing a tight seal after use. Safety tips Avoid contact with the skin and eyes. Avoid breathing vapour. Quick Fix is non-hazardous once cured. Where Quick Fix residues are on the skin, it is recommended that the skin is soaked in warm to hot water to allow easy removal. It is not advisable to try to remove the cured adhesive by pulling and scraping the skin as this will only serve to damage the skin. Alternatively, rub in hand cream or vegetable oil to accelerate the natural process of the skin sloughing off to remove the residue. Where immediate adhesive removal is considered necessary to apply a solvent such as acetone (nail polish remover) then wash off with soapy water. Apply hand cream to replace naturals oils in the skin. Do not use near eyes or open wounds. In case of contact with eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Loctite® Repair Putty Multi-Purpose is a two-part adhesive consisting of an epoxy resin putty and a hardener putty which are mixed by kneading. They react to produce a hard, tough, permanent and waterproof bond on a wide range of materials. Loctite® Repair Putty Multi-Purpose does not shrink and is resistant to most common solvents. It can bond to damp surfaces and cure under water. Loctite Epoxy Putty can be sanded, drilled and painted. For better adhesion, slightly roughen the surface with a wire brush or sandpaper prior to cleaning. Cut off desired length of Epoxy Putty and knead until uniform color is obtained. Putty turns from blue to white when completely mixed. Application Apply the putty to surface to be repaired within 3 minutes of mixing. Work putty firmly into the crack or hole. For bonding, place the putty between the surfaces and apply firm pressure to ensure intimate contact with both surfaces. If applying to a wet surface, apply forcefully and hold in place until adhesion takes effect. For a smooth finish, rub the putty with a damp cloth prior to hardening. Working time is approximately 5 minutes. After 45 minutes, the putty can be sanded, drilled or painted. Cleanup Cured putty may be cut away with caution using a sharp blade.

Do not damage the metal bracket Place the car in shade for at least one hour before commencing the repair. The ideal temperature for this 2 repair is between 15°C and 25°C Diagram 3: Mark an outline of the bracket on the outside of the windscreen with a marking pen Ensure the position of the bracket will result in the mirror hanging in the correct way. - Remove all old adhesive from the bracket with fine sandpaper, and from the screen with a sharp blade or razor blade. Wipe clean the inside of the screen with an ammonia-based detergent or LOCTITE SF 3 7850 Orange hand cleaner, then wipe again with a clean cloth dampened in Methylated Spirit. Allow drying. Cut the nylon mesh to the exact shape of the metal bracket that will fit onto the windscreen. Hands must be clean and oil-free while doing this. - Cut the tip from the adhesive tube (Dia. 1, Part A), apply the adhesive from the tube and spread over the entire area of the metal bracket - Place the cut to size nylon mesh onto the adhesive on the metal bracket. Important. The adhesive will begin curing within 30 seconds of contact with the nylon mesh. Diagram 7: Note Ensure the bracket is in the correct position (top and bottom front and back) With the nylon mesh and adhesive assembled, press the bracket and mesh against the inside of the windscreen aligned with the marked location and hold firm for a minimum of 30 seconds Wipe off any excess adhesive, Allow adhesive to cure for at least 15 minutes before mounting the mirror to the bracket. Directions: Prepare and Dampen the Surfaces If you’re using Original Gorilla Glue for the first time, or bonding a new type of material, we always recommend trying a test piece first. Prepare your surfaces: All surfaces must be clean, dust free and tight fitting. For shiny surfaces, such as metals, glass and some plastics, roughen up the material to give the glue something to bite into. Damp It: Lightly dampen one surface with water. We recommend using a damp cloth or spraying with water. Do not saturate the surface. For dense hardwoods, lightly dampen both surfaces prior to gluing. Evenly Apply Gorilla Glue Onto the Dry Surface Glue It: Carefully apply onto the dry surface. Do not over apply. We recommend wearing gloves or spreading the glue with a disposable brush. In some instances, Gorilla Glue can be a skin sensitizer. If you are predisposed to skin reactions, please take the extra precaution. If you do get the glue on your skin, try removing it with a dry cloth or paper towel first (particularly if the glue is still tacky). If that doesn’t work, try washing with soap and cold water, or using an exfoliator with a gritty texture. Dry your skin and apply lotion. We do not recommend using any kind of alcohol or acetone. This actually strips the skin of its natural oils, which means the glue is more likely to stick. Clamp the Two Surfaces Together Tightly Clamp It: Make sure the clamping pressure is distributed evenly across the surface. Or, if you don’t have a clamp, use heavy objects or Gorilla Tape® to achieve the appropriate clamping pressure. For lighter objects, try using rubber bands to hold the pieces together tightly. Clamp objects for 1–2 hours. For best results, allow 24 hours to cure. Clean up If you need to remove any uncured “squeeze out” or wet glue, we recommend wiping with a dry cloth or using a standard paint thinner. Make sure to read and follow directions if using a paint thinner. Always wear gloves. Once the glue is dry, it is best removed mechanically: Try sanding, chiselling, scraping or picking.
