Description
Bostik Glu Stik is the classic clear-drying glue stick that generations of Australian classrooms, craft rooms and home offices have run on. This listing is a bulk pack of ten 35g sticks, which is the economical way to buy for a school term, a busy studio, an office stationery cupboard or a community group that goes through glue faster than anyone expects.
The formula is a solid, solvent free adhesive that glides on smoothly and dries clear, so finished work looks clean rather than patchy. It is acid free, which matters when you are mounting photographs or building a scrapbook that needs to survive a few decades without yellowing or corroding the materials underneath. The non-wrinkle characteristic means lightweight paper stays flat instead of buckling as the glue dries. The twist-up applicator keeps hands clean and lets you control how much stick is exposed at a time.
Where to use it
Indoors
- Scrapbooking, journaling and album building
- Cut and paste activities, school projects and classroom worksheets
- Paper craft, card making, collage and invitations
- Dry mounting photographs and artwork
- General office and stationery work on paper and light card
Outdoors
Not recommended. This is a water soluble stationery adhesive with no weather or moisture resistance, so anything destined for outdoor exposure needs a different product.
What it bonds
Porous materials, including paper, cardboard, photographs, cellophane, crepe and tissue paper, foil and fabric. Surfaces need to be clean and dry for a reliable bond.
How to use
- Check that both surfaces are clean and dry.
- Remove the cap and turn the base clockwise until a small amount of glue protrudes. Expose only what you need.
- Apply with firm, even strokes to one surface.
- Press the two surfaces together. Initial grab is roughly 20 to 40 seconds.
- Turn the base anti-clockwise to retract the glue and recap straight away so the stick does not dry out.
Tip: if a stick has been left uncapped and has dried out, sitting it in warm water for a few minutes will usually bring it back rather than sending it to the bin.
Important notes
- Designed for lightweight bonding. It is not suitable for heavy duty repairs or structural work.
- Not suitable for non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass or most plastics.
- No water resistance. Bonded work should be kept dry.
- Always recap after use. An uncapped stick will dry out.
- Store between 5°C and 30°C, out of direct sunlight.
- The formula contains corn starch. It is free from wheat, gluten, flour, egg and nut ingredients, though repeated or prolonged contact may cause an allergic reaction in susceptible people.

Safety
According to the Bostik Safety Data Sheet, Glu Stik is not classified as hazardous under GHS and carries no hazard statements. No poison schedule number is allocated under the SUSMP. It is non-toxic and solvent free, which is why it is cleared for classroom use, but it is still an adhesive and not a toy. Keep it out of reach of very young children, avoid eye contact, and do not eat it. If glue does get in an eye, rinse thoroughly with water immediately and seek medical advice if irritation continues. Wash residue off skin and surfaces with warm soapy water. Always read the label and the current Safety Data Sheet before use.
