Description
Cyclone Tufflite Ribbed Spline is a hollow core PVC spline for fitting flyscreen mesh into aluminium screen frames, supplied here as a 5mm x 30m roll for larger projects or repeat repairs. The ribbed surface is designed to grip more firmly than a plain spline, which makes it a sensible pick for screens that cop knocks and pressure, such as doors and patio enclosures.
About the product
Tufflite is a professional quality spline made in Australia from soft, UV resistant PVC. The hollow core helps it hold its shape once pressed into the frame groove, while the ribbed surface bites into the channel to keep the mesh tensioned and secure.
Where to use it
Indoors: flyscreen doors and window screens fitted into aluminium extrusion frames.
Outdoors: patio enclosures, screen doors and other exposed screens where a tighter hold is helpful.
Features
- 5mm wide ribbed spline in a 30m roll
- Hollow core ribbed profile that holds its shape
- Ribbed surface for a tighter grip and a stronger screen system
- Soft, UV resistant PVC
- A better choice for doors and patios than a plain spline
- Made in Australia
How to use it
Lay the mesh over the frame and press the spline into the groove around the perimeter, working steadily so the mesh stays even and taut. A spline roller makes this job much easier, and Cyclone offers a Tufflite roller for 4 to 6mm spline in synthetic screens. Trim off the excess mesh neatly once the spline is fully seated. Check that the spline width suits your frame groove before you start.
Important notes
This spline is intended for installing flyscreen into aluminium extrusion frames. Choose the spline size to suit the groove in your frame, and keep any offcuts for patching or future repairs.
