Description
Velcro Brand Heavy Duty Hook and Loop Tape is a peel-and-stick fastening system for securing heavier items indoors without nails, screws or drilling, supplied here as a 2 pack of black 50 x 100mm pieces. It pairs a moulded plastic hook with a low profile loop to give a slim, strong closure that suits garage, workshop, office and storage organising.
About the product
The hook is moulded and the loop is woven nylon, so the two faces interlock into a thin, firm closure. The low profile design is about 30% thinner than standard Extreme Duty fasteners. Each piece has a self-adhesive backing, and the hold is rated at up to 675g for every 25 x 25mm square of tape, so you can cut or size the fastening to suit the load.
Where to use it
Indoors: tools and equipment on shed or garage walls, organisers and storage items in workshops and offices, and other heavier lightweight-to-medium items on smooth, clean surfaces.
Outdoors: not recommended. Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and the elements can damage the fastener, and it is not intended for wet areas.
Suitable surfaces include smooth, clean and dry painted wallboard, glass, metal and most plastics. Test plastics first, as the tape may not adhere to every plastic.
How to use it
Make sure the surface is smooth, clean and dry. Cut the tape to the length you need if required, peel off the backing and position it on the surface. Press down firmly to activate the adhesive, then leave it for 24 hours before loading it with weight. The best application temperature is roughly 18 to 24°C.
Important notes
The adhesive reaches its maximum strength after about 24 hours. Moving the fastener after it has been stuck down weakens the adhesive and may damage the surface, so position it carefully the first time. Not recommended for laundered fabrics, PVC, wallpaper, loose paint, or porous or flaking surfaces. Not suitable for wet areas. Operating temperature range is -18°C to 49°C.
