If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. Surfaces should not be visibly wet or constantly damp. Oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ezi Press remove cap Remove tab lock and nozzle cap. Twist collar clockwise towards MAX and adjust between MIN and MAX to control flow. Ezi Press application Simply press lever gently to dispense filler to surface. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm, on smaller surfaces apply dots. Bring surfaces together as soon as possible (within first 5 mins). Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load. Ezi Press min max Clean up with a damp cloth, twist collar back to MIN and replace nozzle cap. Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. For higher initial grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow to dry for up to 5 min (no longer) before firmly joining. For porous substrates, a good bond strength is achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In cold or damp weather and between non porous materials, the drying time is greatly extended. When the product is still wet it can be removed with warm soapy water or a damp cloth, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping.

Wipe off excess adhesive while still wet with a damp cloth. If the wood is to be stained, any residual Aquadhere left on the timber surface may prevent the stain from taking to the wood. Maximum strength is achieved after 12 hours, but longer in cold, damp conditions, or when used on dense timbers. Cure slows significantly in humid, cold conditions. Clean all tools with water before the adhesive is allowed to dry. If dry, soak in water until adhesive is soft. Handy tips 1L covers approx. 8m2 To fill small gaps, Aquadhere can be mixed with sawdust. Longer clamping times may be required for joints under high stress, or alternatively use Selleys 308 High-Stress Wood Glue. Avoid contaminating Aquadhere with iron and steel, eg nails, etc. Aquadhere contaminated with rust (iron oxide) will stain brown/black in the presence of tannins in many kinds of wood. On very porous surfaces applying a thin layer to each side and allowing to soaking in before applying a second layer to one side only may result in a stronger bond Cured adhesive can be softened by prolonged contact with hot water or steam. Sanding isn’t an effective way to prepare for gluing, as it often leaves an uneven surface and may clog the timber which can stop the glue from penetrating and impact on your result. A straight router can be used to trim the edge, but be sure to only remove as much as required to obtain a suitable edge for gluing. If you are gluing over a larger surface, try using a small roller to aid in application. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with mineral turpentine and then again with methylated spirits. If there is old, difficult to remove residue such as old paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS Kwik Strip Smart. Ensure the surface is dry before applying the product. Surfaces to be bonded should be clean, dry and free of dust. Refer to handy hints for cleaning tips. Pierce seal at end of the tube by attaching nozzle and cap and turning clockwise. Remove cap and apply a small amount of glue to one surface. Bring surfaces together and apply slight pressure. Allow 12 hours for sufficient bond strength for practical use. Handy tips Supa Glue can create a white residue on the surface of materials if the area is not well ventilated. Clean the affected area with acetone to remove (most nail polish removers) residue. Excellent when used with other adhesives, as the temporary tack. For best results, ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, free of dust, dry and close fitting. After use, wipe excess product from the nozzle with a tissue dipped in nail polish remover. For best performance from this product after opening, store in the refrigerator or in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. In the event that fingers get stuck together – don’t panic! Slowly twist fingers in the opposite direction in hot soapy water. Acetone (most nail polish removers) or Olive oil can also be used to remove Quick Fix from the skin. While supa glue is not recommended for use on some plastics, if your kids have broken their favourite toy, try this method: Line up the two pieces, glue it, leave it for 24 hours to dry, then drop more glue on the break area like a ‘collar’/protective layer. Since Quick Fix cures with moisture set times may be extended on very dry surfaces or under dry conditions. Supa glues cure more slowly when large amounts are used. For faster cure use sparingly. For cleaning surfaces prior to application of adhesive, if the surface is porous, we would recommend using SELLEYS Liquid Sugar Soap.
