(CQP 019-2) APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS SUBSTRATE PREPARATION The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and homogeneous, free from oils, grease, dust and loose or friable particles. Sikasil®-670 Fire adheres without primers and/or activators APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS Sikasil®-670 Fire is supplied ready to use. After the necessary substrate preparation, insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth and apply any primer if necessary. Insert a foil pack or cartridge into the sealant gun and extrude Sikasil®-670 Fire into the joint making sure that it comes into full contact with the sides of the joint and avoids any air entrapment. Sikasil®-670 Fire sealant must be firmly tooled against the joint sides to ensure adequate adhesion. It is recommended to use masking tape where exact joint lines or neat lines are required. Remove the tape within the skin time. Do not use tooling products containing solvents. CLEANING OF TOOLS Clean all tools and application equipment immediately after use with Sika® Remover-208 and/or Sika® TopClean T. Once cured, residual material can only be removed mechanically. Cut cartridge tip, fit nozzle and cut to desired opening (5mm) then insert into caulking gun. We recommend Selleys Light Speed Caulking Gun. Apply using caulking gun. Apply with caulking gun, forcing product into gap. Press into cracks and holes using a spatula or wet finger. Clean away excess from surfaces immediately using a damp cloth. For larger cracks & holes, 2 applications may be necessary. Allow first application to dry before applying second. Hardens in 24 hours depending on weather. Protect from rain until firmly skinned. If porous surfaces are greasy or dirty, we would recommend cleaning the surface with SELLEYS LIQUID SUGAR SOAP, and allow to dry. If the surface is non-porous eg glass or metal, firstly clean the surface with Mineral Turpetine and then again with Methylated Spirits, and allow to dry. If there is old difficult to remove residue such as old flaky paint, we recommend using paint stripper such as SELLEYS KWIK STRIP SMART, and allow to dry. On wet timber pooled water should be wiped off. Highly oily timber types may need to be wiped with solvent prior to application to remove surface oils. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/ Course grain, as the construction adhesive will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge. Cut the nozzle end to desired opening (approx. 5mm diameter). Fit to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of work which requires a caulking gun. Apply a bead of product along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40cm. Fix the surfaces with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. The product is repositionable for up to 20 minutes after fitting. Allow the adhesive to set (at least 24 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping. For faster grab, apply to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-5 minutes before firmly joining. The time it takes to form a strong bond depends on the nature and conditions of the application. In most situations strong bonds can be achieved after 24 hours and will continue to strengthen over a 2-3 day period. The product will fully cure up to 7 days. When the product is still wet it can be removed with mineral turpetine, otherwise if the product is dry it can be removed by sanding or scraping, we recommend using a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper. Clean any excess from your hands with SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. To eliminate squeaks in tongue and groove flooring, apply a bead of Liquid nails into the groove or each board when installing. Handy tips When applying to one surface, ensure sufficient LIQUID NAILS Original is used so that some adhesive extrudes out when surfaces are brought together then wipe off excess if necessary. If glue is not visible, then insufficient contact may not have been made between the surfaces and a weak joint may result. LIQUID NAILS Original should always be used in conjunction with mechanical fasteners in structural, critical or high stress applications. LIQUID NAILS Original is sometimes called LIQUID NAILS (SOLVENT) to differentiate it from the other Liquid Nails products. LIQUID NAILS Original shrinks slightly on curing. Cured LIQUID NAILS Original residues can be removed by holding a rag soaked in Mineral Turps against the residue, then rubbing the residue once softened. Mineral Turps penetrates in this way at approximately 1 mm per hour. When Liquid Nails Original joints are directly exposed to the weather, it is recommended to seal around the edges with a silicone sealant to prevent water ponding inside the joint and thus weaken the joint. Step 2: Preparation Protect work area. Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, wax and paint. For better adhesion, roughen smooth surfaces prior to cleaning. Pre-fit parts to be joined. Remove plastic cap from the centre of the plunger. Turn nozzle end up and pull the plunger back slightly allowing air bubbles to rise to the top. Snap off and discard end of the syringe. Insert nozzle opening and push past prongs. Rotate nozzle 90° to lock into place. Step 3: Application Depress plunger to dispense equal amounts of hardener and resin directly onto the surface to be filled or bonded. Remove and discard nozzle. Wipe syringe tip immediately. Retract plunger slightly and close with the cap provided. Place objects together within 40 seconds of adhesive application. Bond sets in 40 to 60 seconds at 20°C to 25°C. Remove any excess adhesive immediately with mineral spirits. Usable strength is obtained within 5 to 10 minutes. Warmer temperatures will shorten the set time and cooler temperatures will lengthen it. Step 4: Cleanup Clean excess glue immediately with mineral spirits. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of gap filler. If you are going to wipe off the excess gap filler with a wet finger, ensure you wet your finger with water and not saliva, as saliva contains bacteria and this will increase the chances of mould growing in your gap filler. Allow the surfaces to skin prior to painting, which is approximately 30 minutes. Protect from rain until firmly skinned. Allow for longer skin and cure times in damp conditions. Some water based under coats and flat paints may crack on drying. To reduce this effect, allow the product to cure for 24 hours in small gaps or 48 hours in larger gaps before painting with such paints. For maximum durability on bare exterior surfaces, apply a coat of acrylic paint and allow to dry, before applying this gap sealant. Always paint over with a quality exterior paint. To ensure you get a professional finish ensure you paint with a good quality paint and paint brush. Painting with a good brush ensures the finish and durability of the paint is increased. Selleys No More Gaps Exterior & Weatherboard is a specially formulated flexible gap filler, with superior weather, UV and mould resistance to protect against harsh external elements such as rain, wind and UV rays. It can be painted over with both water and oil based paints, so you can give your house the professional finish it deserves. WET BOND METHOD Direct a bead along the length of the joist, stud or batten. On broad flat surfaces apply beads every 40 cm. (‘zig-zag’ beads are more appropriate on surfaces of moderate width; eg shiplap panels.) Fix with sufficient nails, screws or clamping to hold load and achieve contact over the total bond area. Wet bonds are repositionable for up to 15 mins after fitting. Allow adhesives to set (at least 8 hours) before removing any temporary fasteners or clamping.(Refer to Bond Strength Time.) CONTACT BOND METHOD – for faster grab Apply a bead to one surface only, press together and pull apart. Allow surfaces to dry 2-4 minutes before firmly joining. We also recommend sanding the surface back with a good quality sanding block, such as a ROTA COTA Sanding Block Medium/Course grain, as the silicone will adhere more readily to a scratched up surface. Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. Cut the seal at the top of the cartridge and cut the nozzle at a 45° angle, to the size of the gap opening. Fit the nozzle to the top of the cartridge. Insert the cartridge into a caulking gun such as SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking gun. We recommend SELLEYS LIGHT SPEED Caulking Gun, as its new innovative pressure release design reduces the mess which results from run on and stress on your hands, which is critical if you are doing a lot of sealing. Hold the caulking gun at a 45° angle. Press the nozzle opening against the joint, apply steady pressure to the caulking gun and extrude the silicone sealant forcing the sealant into the gap and move in a pushing motion, along the joint in one smooth action. For a smooth finish, smooth with a finger dipped in mineral turpetine or for a professional finish use a paint scraper such as a 50mm ROTA COTA Soft Grip Scraper dipped in mineral turpetine. Excess sealant must be cleaned up before the sealant skins in 5-10 minutes. Wipe excess away with a cloth dampened in mineral turpetine or use a SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes. Remove tape before the sealant skins. Clean tools immediately in mineral turpetine. Avoid smearing on surrounding surfaces, see a handy tip. The sealant will cure fully in 72 hours. As this point, any unwanted sealant can be removed by trimming with a sharp blade but avoid undercutting the seal. Handy tips Tips for Using a Brick & Concrete Silicone Sealant Ensure you tape both sides of the gap before applying the product. This ensures a neat finish and makes it easier to clean up. When first applying product, extrude a small amount onto a piece of scrap material to ensure a smooth continuous flow of silicone sealant. Remove the tape before the silicone sealant skins. For a better finish complete painting prior to use of the sealant as it can not be painted over. For a better finish, use a spatula dipped in mineral turpentine or detergent and water to tool off the sealant. Work in sections that can be completed before sealant skins. Tooling off and tape removal must be completed before skinning occurs or a rough surface may result, so working in sections allows for a better finish. Keep a pack of SELLEYS Hand Kleen Wipes handy to wipe up any spills and for cleaning any material off the skin before it cures. They are an easy and effective way to keep clean on the job. Safetytips Uncured product may irritate eyes. Avoid contact with skin, if contact occurs, wipe off immediately and wash with detergent. It may irritate sensitive skin. Avoid breathing in vapours. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.Storage and re-use Store in cool dry conditions, below 30°C The sealant should be used within 6 months after opening. After use keep the nozzle on the cartridge Silicone is a reactive product and is designed to cure once exposed to humidity. While the product may be stored for a few months once opened, it does have a limited shelf life. Storage in an upright position in a cool dry place is recommended to maximise the storage life. If the sealant is going to be used again within a few days, leave the nozzle on and merely extrude approximately 2 cm of product before storing the cartridge upright. This will cure to a plug which can easily be pulled out when required. For longer storage periods, leave the nozzle on and place a piece of plasticene or Blu Tack over the end of the nozzle. Tightly tape a piece of aluminium foil over the whole nozzle to exclude any air. When you want to re-use the product, simply take off the foil and plug from the old nozzle pull out the excess silicone from the nozzle with a corkscrew, then re-pierce any cure at the tip of the cartridge and re-use. If cure has taken place into the cartridge, the product is unlikely to be in a useable state and should be discarded.

Surface must be clean and sound. It may be dry or damp, but free of standing water. Remove contaminants such as dust, dirt, oil and grime with a solvent such as denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner. Mild detergent solution in water is also good removing contaminants. Use a clean paper towel or rag for wiping. Do not use mineral spirits or paint thinner for removing contaminants. Remove rust and loose paint with sandpaper or wire brush. Epoxy typically sticks to most paints. If there is a concern of the paint’s adhesion then remove it with sandpaper or wire brush. Smooth, glossy and shiny surfaces should be roughened using sandpaper to increase adhesion. How to clean-up after PC-Crete™ application Clean up mixed epoxy before it cures with paper towels and solvent. Denatured alcohol (ethanol), acetone, rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or lacquer thinner are suitable solvents for removing uncured epoxy. Cured epoxy can be removed with paint stripper or remover. Can PC-Crete™ be used to repair a crack in a fountain? PC-Crete™ looks like concrete and is excellent for repairing concrete fountains, statues and lawn decorations. Will PC-Crete™ adhere to a concrete step? Can it be shaped to match a corner? PC- Crete™ is excellent to repairs on concrete surfaces such as steps. It shapes easily and can be sanded to match the look and texture of the concrete surface. Is PC-Crete™ suitable for filling a small crack or spall in a sidewalk or deck? Small crack repairs in concrete are easily made with or without the use of tools using PC-Crete™. PC-Crete™ is excellent for replacing missing or loose mortar between bricks and stones. Can PC-Crete™ be used in a fish tank or pond? PC-Crete™ is not recommended for aquatic use. Do not use this product in aquariums or ponds. The PC-Crete™ is not easily grabbing or sticking to the concrete surface. It pulls away lifting loose stones The putty wants to stick to the fingers more than the concrete surface. Wet the fingers with alcohol and then press, shape and smooth the applied putty. Also, loose stones can be wire brushed away to provide a sound surface. PC-Crete™ does not have a smooth texture. It has particles throughout The particles in PC-Crete™ are used to simulate the appearance of concrete.

The package itself can be used as a mixing tray. If you flip the plastic blister shell over, you can use the small well as a starter dish to begin dispensing until both the resin and hardener are flowing equally. Once the flow is even, move to the larger mixing well to dispense your even ratio. Mix the two parts for about 20 seconds, until the mixture is uniform. Apply within 5 minutes.As you mix, you will notice that the epoxy warms up. This is a reaction that occurs as the resin and hardener combine. Application After mixing is complete, apply Gorilla Epoxy within 5 minutes. The epoxy mixture will continue to thicken and the bond strength will decrease the longer you wait to apply.
