Description
The 3M Builders P2 Particulate Respirator 8205 is a lightweight, disposable dust mask for sanding, plastering, grinding and other dusty jobs, supplied here as a handy pack of three. It gives P2 rated filtration for everyday workshop, building and renovation tasks, and it is also used as protection against bushfire smoke particles.
About the product
The 8205 is an unvalved, cup-style disposable respirator that carries a Class P2 rating under AS/NZS 1716. Its filter layer uses 3M Advanced Electrostatic Media, which is designed to filter effectively while keeping breathing resistance low. The design is light and roomy, which helps wearers keep it on for the whole job. A soft foam pad sits under the aluminium nose clip so the mask is gentler on the skin, and the clip can be bent to the shape of your nose for a snugger seal. That fit can also help reduce fogging on safety glasses. The dual straps are latex-free.
Where to use it
Indoors: sanding, plastering, tiling, plumbing work, grinding, metalwork, insulation handling and woodworking.
Outdoors: dusty site and garden jobs, plus use as protection against bushfire smoke particles.
How to use it
- Wash and dry your hands, then hold the respirator in one hand with the nose clip at your fingertips and the straps hanging free.
- Cup the mask over your nose and chin, then pull the top strap over the crown of your head and the bottom strap around the back of your neck below your ears.
- Press the nose clip firmly around the bridge of your nose with both hands until it holds the shape.
- Check the seal by breathing in and out. If air leaks around the edges, adjust the straps and nose clip and check again.
- Each pack contains 3 masks.
Important notes
This is a particulate respirator, so it is made for dusts, mists, fumes and smoke particles. It is not designed for gases or vapours. Respiratory protection only works when it is correctly selected, fitted and worn for the whole time you are exposed. Facial hair or anything else that gets between the mask edge and your skin can stop a good seal from forming. Replace the respirator if it is damaged, becomes hard to breathe through, or gets dirty or wet. It is a disposable product and is not meant to be cleaned or shared. Always read the user instructions on the pack before use.
