Description
The 3M Builders P2 Respirator 8205 is a lightweight disposable particulate respirator for dusty jobs on site and around the home, supplied here as a 20 pack for workshops, crews and busy households. It gives Class P2 rated filtration against dusts, mists, fumes and bushfire smoke, so you can keep a stack on hand and replace it as often as the job needs.
About the product
The 8205 is built with 3M advanced electrostatic (electret) filter media, designed to filter effectively while keeping breathing resistance low. A mouldable metal nose piece lets you shape the mask to your nose for a more secure seal, and soft nose foam helps with comfort and with reducing fogging of safety glasses. Dual latex-free straps spread pressure evenly, which is easier on the neck and face over a long shift. It is made without components containing natural rubber latex and meets AS/NZS 1716 for Class P2.
Where to use it
Indoors: sanding, plastering, tiling, plumbing, insulation work and general dusty renovation tasks.
Outdoors: grinding, metal work, wood work and as a smoke filter during bushfire smoke events.
How to use it
- Choose the 8205 for particulate hazards such as sanding dust, plaster dust, grinding dust, mists, fumes and smoke.
- Hold the respirator over your nose and mouth, then position the straps around your head so it sits snugly.
- Press the metal nose piece and shape it to the bridge of your nose until the mask seals comfortably.
- Check the seal before starting work. Facial hair or gaps along the edges can reduce protection.
- Replace it when it is damaged, soiled, or when breathing becomes noticeably harder.
Important notes
This is a particulate respirator only. It is not designed to filter gases or chemical vapours. It is a disposable product, and a good seal against the face is essential for it to work as intended. Always match the respirator to the hazard on your job and follow your workplace requirements and the manufacturer's instructions for use.
