Description
The 3M High Performance Ear Muffs (EMU44PR) are an Australian made, headband-style hearing protector with bright safety orange acoustic cups, rated Class 5 with 29dB(A) noise reduction. The large cups are designed for comfort over long stretches, making them a practical choice for trade and workshop use where medium to high noise protection is needed.
About the product
The cups are moulded from tough ABS and sit on a glass reinforced nylon headband. The headband is adjustable, so you can set the fit to suit your head. The earmuffs are certified to AS/NZS 1270:2002 and suit general construction environments and other noisy workplaces. They are not a corded or electronic model, so there is nothing to charge or plug in.
Where to use it
Indoors: workshops and job sites where band saws, pneumatic drills and similar tools are running.
Outdoors: concrete cutting, ride-on mowing and other noisy site or yard work.
How to use it
- Sits over the head, with a cup over each ear and the headband across the top of the head.
- Adjust the headband until both cups seal comfortably around your ears.
- Keep the cushions clear of hair, hats and anything else that could break the seal.
- Wear them for the whole time you are exposed to noise, because taking them off even briefly reduces the protection.
- Supplied as one pair of earmuffs. A carry case is not included.
Important notes
The ear cushions are not replaceable, so replace the whole unit if the cushions, cups or headband become worn, cracked or damaged. These earmuffs are not dielectric, so do not rely on them around live electrical work. Hearing protection only works properly when it is fitted correctly and worn consistently.

Care and storage
Wipe the cups and cushions clean with a damp cloth after use and let them dry. Store in a clean, dry place away from direct heat and heavy objects that could bend the headband. Check the cushions and headband before each use and replace the earmuffs if you notice any damage.
