Description
3M No Residue Duct Tape is a strong, waterproof cloth-style duct tape that peels off cleanly, supplied here as a single 48mm x 18.2m roll in grey. It suits jobs where you want a firm hold now and a tidy surface later, such as bundling, securing and temporary or longer-term fixes around the house, garage or worksite.
About the tape
The tape combines a tough, conformable backing with an adhesive designed to release without leaving a sticky mess. 3M states that it can be removed residue-free for up to six months after application. The waterproof construction is made to cope with challenging weather, and the tape hand-tears both across and along the roll, so you can tear off a length without scissors or a knife. It stretches and conforms easily around cords, bundles and uneven shapes.
Where to use it
Indoors: securing loose cords and cables, holding mats and runners in place, bundling and tidying, and quick temporary repairs.
Outdoors: temporary weather-exposed holds and repairs, where a waterproof tape that can be removed later is handy.
It works for both temporary holds and more permanent repairs. Check the removal window and test a small, hidden spot first on delicate, painted or porous surfaces.
How to use it
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease so the tape grips well. Unroll a length, tear it by hand in either direction, then press it down firmly along the full length to get good contact. When the job is done, peel the tape back slowly and at a low angle. For the cleanest result, remove it within the six-month window.
Important notes
The clean-removal claim applies for up to six months after application. Results depend on the surface, the conditions and how long the tape has been in place, so test first on delicate, freshly painted or textured finishes. Leaving the tape on for longer than six months may leave adhesive behind.

Safety
