AEG 18V Brushless Sub Compact Cut Off Tool 3" (Skin Only)

Description

The AEG 18V Brushless Sub Compact Cut Off Tool is a pocket-sized 3-inch (76 mm) cutter for tradies and keen DIYers who need to slice through different materials in cramped spots. It is sold as a skin (tool only), so it slots straight into the AEG 18V battery system you may already own.

About the product
The compact brushless motor spins up to 20,000 rpm. AEG says this tool is 22% smaller and 44% lighter than its standard-sized cut-off tool, and it weighs just 0.8 kg. The slim body is designed for comfortable one-handed use, which helps when you are working overhead, inside cavities or around pipes and framing. A forward/reverse switch lets you choose the direction the disc turns, so you can control the cut more precisely. Other features include a variable speed trigger, an LED sight light and a tool-free adjustable upper guard.

Where to use it
Indoors: trimming tiles, cutting plasterboard, cutting back bolts, threaded rod and conduit, and making small cuts in tight spaces such as bathrooms, cupboards and ceiling cavities.
Outdoors: onsite metalwork, cutting masonry and pavers, and quick jobs where a full-sized grinder is too bulky.

Suitable materials include metal, tiles, masonry and plasterboard, and some plastics, depending on the disc or blade fitted. Always choose a disc that is rated for the material you are cutting.

How to use it

  • Fit a charged AEG 18V battery (battery and charger are not included).
  • Select the right blade or disc for the material and adjust the upper guard without tools.
  • Choose forward or reverse rotation, then squeeze the variable speed trigger to start.
  • Let the disc reach full speed before it contacts the work and use steady, light pressure.
  • Supplied accessories are listed by AEG as a metal cut-off disc, a diamond tile blade and a carbide abrasive blade.

Important notes
Sold as a skin only: the battery and charger must be purchased separately. Maximum cutting depth is 16.3 mm, so this tool suits small to medium cuts rather than thick stock. Use only discs and blades sized for a 76 mm tool with the correct arbor size, and replace damaged or worn discs straight away.
