Description
Bear General Purpose Cloth Tape is an all-round, hand-tearable repair tape for the garage, workshop and home, supplied here as a single 50mm x 15m roll in black. It pairs a strong, flexible cloth backing with a high-strength adhesive, which makes it a handy option for quick fixes, bundling and temporary repairs.
About the tape
The backing is a reinforced cloth, so the tape holds together under tension but still tears straight off the roll by hand, with no scissors or knife needed. It is flexible enough to wrap around pipes, cables, handles and other irregular shapes, and the aggressive adhesive is made to grip most clean, dry surfaces.
Where to use it
Indoors: bundling cables and hoses, patching and reinforcing packaging, holding items in place while you work, general repairs around the home and workshop.
Outdoors: temporary repairs on tools, equipment and fittings, dust proofing and sealing joins, covering and holding items in the garage, shed or yard.
It suits a wide range of clean, dry materials, including cardboard, timber, metal, plastic and painted surfaces. Test on a small area first if you are working on delicate or textured finishes.
How to use it
Wipe the surface clean and let it dry so it is free of dust, oil and grease. Unroll the length you need, press the tape down firmly and smooth it out so the adhesive makes full contact. Tear it off by hand, or cut it for a neater edge. Use a longer overlap on curved or uneven areas.
Important notes
This is a general purpose, economy grade tape intended for temporary repairs, so use a dedicated product for permanent, structural or load-bearing jobs. Adhesion is best on clean, dry surfaces and may be reduced on dusty, damp, oily or very rough surfaces. Remove the tape promptly after a temporary job, as adhesive residue can be harder to clean up if it is left in place for a long time.
