Description
Bear General Purpose Cloth Tape is a handy, tear-by-hand repair tape for the workshop, garage and home, supplied here as a single 50mm x 25m roll in red. It pairs a strong, flexible cloth backing with a high-strength adhesive, which makes it a good choice for quick fixes and temporary repairs around the house and job site.
About the formula
The cloth backing gives the roll useful strength while staying flexible, so it follows curves, corners and uneven surfaces without fighting you. The adhesive is designed to grip firmly to most clean, dry surfaces, and the tape tears cleanly by hand, so there is no need to hunt for scissors or a knife mid-job.
Where to use it
Indoors: bundling and tidying cables or hoses, holding items together, reinforcing cartons and covers, and quick fixes around the home or workshop.
Outdoors: temporary repairs on garden gear, equipment and fittings, and securing or covering items on site, where a flexible, hard-wearing tape is handy.
It suits a wide range of everyday materials, including many smooth, clean, dry surfaces. Rough, dusty, damp or oily surfaces will reduce grip, so prepare the area first.
How to use it
Wipe the surface clean and let it dry fully so it is free of dust, oil and moisture. Unroll the length you need and tear it by hand, then press it down firmly along its full length, smoothing it over the surface so it conforms to any curves or uneven spots. For extra strength on a repair, overlap the tape slightly as you go.
Important notes
This is a general-purpose tape intended mainly for temporary repairs rather than permanent structural fixing. On freshly painted, delicate or wallpapered surfaces, test a small hidden area first, as strong adhesives can lift finishes when removed. Colours can vary slightly between production runs.
