Description
Bear General Purpose Cloth Tape is a handy black cloth repair tape in a compact 50mm x 4.5m roll, suited to quick fixes and light everyday jobs around the home, garage and workshop. It pairs a strong, flexible cloth backing with a high-strength adhesive, so it is a practical choice for temporary repairs.
About the tape
The backing is a flexible cloth that tears by hand, so you can cut lengths without scissors or a knife. It conforms well to uneven and irregular surfaces, and the adhesive grips firmly on a wide range of clean, dry materials. The small 4.5m roll is easy to keep in a toolbox, drawer or vehicle.
Where to use it
Indoors: bundling and securing cables or hoses, temporary patching, reinforcing and general household repairs.
Outdoors: temporary repairs around the garage, shed or yard, where a quick and tough hold is needed. This tape is listed for both indoor and outdoor use.
Cloth tape of this type is commonly used for repairing, binding, reinforcing, dust proofing, duct sealing and packaging. As with any tape, test a small area first on delicate or painted surfaces.
How to use it
Wipe the surface so it is clean, dry and free of dust, oil and grease. Unroll the length you need, tear it by hand, and press it down firmly along its full length so the adhesive makes good contact. Smooth it over curves and uneven areas so it conforms to the shape.
Important notes
This tape is designed for temporary repairs, so use a purpose-made product where a permanent, structural or pressure-rated seal is needed. Adhesion is best on clean, dry surfaces and may be reduced on dusty, damp, oily or very textured materials. Remove the tape over time rather than leaving it in place for long periods, as adhesive residue can be harder to clean up the longer it is left.
