Description
The Bosch Professional GLM 50-27 CG is a rugged green beam laser distance measurer built for tradies who need to measure quickly and accurately on busy job sites. It measures up to 50 metres and sends results to your phone over Bluetooth, which makes quoting, ordering materials and keeping records faster.
About the product
The green laser dot is easier to see than a standard red dot, so it suits long-distance measuring in bright indoor conditions. The housing is IP65 rated against dust and splashes and has a shock-absorbing rubber casing. Bosch states it handles 1.5 metre drops, even onto hard concrete. A built-in incline sensor covers a full 360 degrees, and the unit gives sound and vibration feedback so you know each measurement has registered. Bosch says battery runtime is better than on the earlier GLM 50 C.
Where to use it
Indoors: room and wall areas, fitting and placing elements, working out material needs, and documenting measurements in bright interiors.
On site: rough construction work, where the IP65 protection and rubber casing help it cope with knocks and dusty conditions.
How to use it
- Fit 2 x AA batteries, then switch on and point the green laser dot at your target.
- Measure lengths from 0.05 to 50 metres, in metric or imperial units.
- Use the 1/4 inch tripod thread to mount it on a tripod for steadier long-range readings.
- Store up to 30 values on the device, or send results to the Bosch MeasureOn app over Bluetooth.
- The unit switches itself off after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery.

Care and storage
Do not point the laser at people or animals, and never look directly into the beam. Wipe the body clean with a soft, damp cloth and keep the lens free of dust and smudges. Remove the batteries if you will not use it for a long time. Store it in the pouch in a cool, dry place and keep it out of reach of children. Read the supplied instruction manual before first use.
