Description
Boyle Clear Spray Adhesive is a handy aerosol glue for bonding and mounting lightweight materials around the home, office and craft table, supplied here as a single 350g can. It goes on as an even spray and dries clear, so it suits neat jobs where you don't want visible glue lines.
About the formula
A solvent-based spray adhesive. The supplied product data lists a light aliphatic petroleum solvent, dichloromethane and a hydrocarbon propellant. The nozzle spray gives broad, even coverage, and the adhesive is quick drying. Once cured it is clear, moisture resistant, UV/sunlight resistant and drillable. It is not solvent resistant and cannot be sanded.
Where to use it
Indoors: mounting prints, photos and artwork, laminating paper and card, and general craft, scrapbooking and office projects.
Around the workshop: light bonding and mounting jobs on timber, metal, glass and fabric where a clear, even bond is wanted.
Suitable materials include cardboard, cork, wood, paper, fabric, glass, prints and photographs, and metal. Plastics and foams are not listed by the manufacturer, so test a small hidden area first.
How to use it
Shake the can well before use. Hold it roughly 20 to 25cm from the surface and spray an even coat. For a temporary bond, spray one surface only, let it dry, then press the surfaces together. For a permanent bond, spray both surfaces, wait until they turn tacky, then press them together firmly. Always test on an offcut or sample before coating the full surface. Work in a well-ventilated area and keep the nozzle clear of ignition sources.
Important notes
This adhesive is designed for lightweight materials, not heavy or structural loads. It is not solvent resistant and not sandable. Solvent-based sprays can mark or soften some foams and plastics, so a test patch is a must. Full cure times are not published by the manufacturer, so allow plenty of time before putting the bond under stress.

Safety
Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and do not breathe the spray or mist. Wear protective gloves and eye protection, and wash hands and exposed skin after handling. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames and hot surfaces, and don't spray near an ignition source. Do not pierce or burn the can, even when empty.
