Description
Boyle Hot Melt Glue Sticks are a pack of eight clear 7mm sticks made for use in a high temperature glue gun, handy for home, office and school craft projects. They give a quick, strong hot glue bond on lots of everyday craft and household materials, and they suit most handicraft jobs.
About the formula
These are clear hot melt glue sticks. According to Boyle, they are non-toxic, odourless and acid free, and they dry clear so the glue line stays discreet on finished projects. Each stick is 200mm long and 7mm in diameter, so check that your glue gun takes 7mm sticks before you buy.
Where to use it
Indoors: craft and handicraft projects, school and homework projects, office jobs, jewellery making and quick household fixes.
Outdoors: not recommended. The supplier lists this product for indoor use only.
Suitable materials include cardboard, ceramics, fabric, glass, jewellery, paper, plastic, leather, metal and wood. It is a good idea to test on a small hidden spot first, especially on plastics and delicate or heat-sensitive items.
How to use it
- Load a stick into a high temperature glue gun with a 7mm barrel and let the gun heat up fully.
- Make sure the surfaces are clean, dry and free of dust and grease.
- Squeeze the trigger to lay glue on one surface, then press the parts together straight away and hold them until the glue cools and sets.
- Work quickly, as hot melt glue cools fast and loses its tack.
Important notes
The supplier does not list this product as child friendly, so children should only use it with close adult supervision. Molten glue and the gun nozzle get very hot and can cause burns. Do not touch hot glue with bare skin. Not recommended for outdoor use. Set and cure times and temperature resistance of the bond have not been published by the manufacturer, so test before relying on it for anything that will be heated or put under load. The sticks are sold on their own and do not include a glue gun.

Safety
Molten hot melt glue can cause serious burns, so avoid skin contact, use the glue gun on a stable heat-safe surface and unplug it when you have finished. Use in a well-ventilated area and keep out of reach of children. Store the sticks in a cool, dry place away from heat. If you get hot glue on your skin, cool the area under cold running water straight away and do not peel off the glue. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full details.
