Citeco Heavy Duty Earmuffs Class 5 SLC80 31dB

Description

Citeco Heavy Duty Earmuffs are a Class 5 hearing protector built for loud work sites, with a padded frame designed to stay comfortable through long stretches of wear. They suit tradies, workshop users and serious DIYers who spend time around noisy tools and machinery.

About the product
These earmuffs conform to the Australian and New Zealand hearing protector standard AS/NZS 1270:2002. They carry a Class 5 rating with an SLC(80) value of 31dB. The SLC(80) figure is the noise reduction that at least 80% of wearers can expect when the muffs are fitted correctly. The padded frame spreads pressure on the head, and stainless steel telescopic adjustment lets you set the fit to suit different head sizes.

Where to use them
Indoors: workshops, factories and manufacturing environments, or any room where power tools and machinery run for long periods.
Outdoors: construction sites, demolition and other loud jobs where high noise levels are a regular part of the work.

How to use them

  • Place one cup over each ear so the cushions sit flat against your head and fully cover your ears.
  • Slide the telescopic arms up or down until the fit is snug but comfortable.
  • Keep hair, glasses arms, hats or other items out from under the cushions, as they can break the seal and reduce protection.
  • Put the muffs on before you enter the noisy area and keep them on for the whole time you are exposed.

Important notes
Hearing protection only works when it is worn correctly and for the full period of noise exposure. Choose the right class of protector for the noise level on your job. Check the cushions and frame regularly and replace the muffs if they are cracked, worn or no longer fit firmly. Stated noise reduction values are tested under standard conditions, so actual results depend on fit.
