Description
Crommelin Waterproofing Membrane Surface Primer is a rubber polymer primer and adhesion promoter made to prepare porous surfaces before Crommelin waterproofing membranes go on, supplied here in a 1L pack. It helps the membrane grip more reliably and firms up dusty, powdery substrates so the coating has a sound base to bond to.
About the formula
A multipurpose rubber polymer primer designed to consolidate loose, chalky surfaces and improve membrane adhesion. Crommelin lists it as a one-coat product with high coverage and rapid drying, and describes it as non-toxic and low VOC. Its safety data sheet classes it as non-hazardous under the Safe Work Australia GHS criteria.
Where to use it
Indoors: concrete and cementitious floors and walls in wet areas that need priming before a Crommelin waterproofing membrane is applied.
Outdoors: concrete and cementitious surfaces such as balconies and similar areas, prior to coating with a compatible Crommelin membrane.
Suitable substrates are concrete and cementitious surfaces, including those that are dusty or powdery.
How to use it
Prepare the surface so it is clean, dry, sound and free of dust, grease and loose material. Apply the primer evenly, then allow it to dry before applying your Crommelin membrane. Full application rates, conditions and drying times are set out in Crommelin's instructions for the membrane you are using, so check these before you start.
