Description
The Cyclone Fibreglass Flyscreen is a traditional, flexible insect screen mesh for replacing or fitting flyscreens on windows and doors, supplied here as a 910mm wide x 2m long roll. It suits everyday home use and is easy to cut to size and fit into a standard screen frame.
About the product
This is a woven fibreglass flyscreen mesh with a matte charcoal protective coating. The dark finish helps cut sun glare and the coating has low heat transfer. The fabric is supple and pliable, so it is easy to handle and holds firm tension once it is fitted. Cyclone says it will not dent, corrode or stain, and it is UV stabilised for a longer working life. Cyclone rates its insect protection at 2 out of 3 on its own scale.
Where to use it
Indoors: window and door screens in bedrooms, living areas, kitchens and laundries, to allow fresh air while keeping flying insects out.
Outdoors: screens on external doors, sliding doors and windows, where the UV stabilised mesh is built to cope with sun exposure.
How to use it
- Measure your screen frame and cut the mesh a little larger than the frame opening.
- Lay the mesh over the frame groove and press it in with spline, using a spline roller (not included).
- Pull the mesh evenly as you work around the frame so it stays tight and flat.
- Trim off the excess mesh neatly along the spline once fitted.
- The flexible, pliable weave makes it quick to spline in and it resists kinking and denting.
Important notes
This pack contains the mesh only. Spline, frames and tools are not included. Fibreglass mesh is a general-purpose flyscreen and is not a security screen or a pet-proof mesh. If you need extra protection against very small insects such as midges or sandflies, look at a finer weave screening. Wear gloves when cutting and handling if you have sensitive skin.

Care and storage
Keep the roll flat or loosely rolled in a dry place and avoid sharp creases. Once fitted, clean the screen gently with a soft brush or cloth and mild soapy water, then rinse. Avoid scraping or pulling hard on the mesh so it keeps its tension and shape.
