Cyclone Primeview Stainless Steel Insect Screen 910mm x 2m (Roll)

Description

Cyclone Primeview is a fine stainless steel insect screen made for people who want a clearer view and better airflow than a standard flyscreen gives, supplied here as a 910mm wide x 2m long roll. It suits window and door screen replacements, and it is one of Cyclone's screens that can be used on BAL-40 rated buildings when installed correctly.

About the product
Primeview is woven from ultra-fine, high-tensile SS304 stainless steel wire and finished with a super-fine ESD coating that gives an even, deep black look. Cyclone's weaving process keeps the strands very uniform, which makes the screen look sharper and less obstructive from inside. Cyclone states the view is 35% clearer than a traditional flyscreen. The screen is also built for good airflow and rated Class 3 for corrosion resistance. Cyclone describes it as suited to coastal corrosion zones.

Where to use it
Indoors: replacement screens for openable windows, sliding screen doors and hinged screen doors, where you want a clean outlook from inside the home.
Outdoors: screens on the outside of windows and doors in areas exposed to weather, coastal air or bushfire embers, and on buildings rated up to BAL-40.

How to use it
Measure your frame, then cut the screen to size and fit it to a suitable frame. Cyclone notes that the weave needs no pre-creasing and allows higher tension to be reached, which helps give a flat, neat finish.

  • Fine stainless steel mesh for a clearer, more open view
  • Even ESD black coating
  • Patented weave technology for a clean finish with less scrap when cutting
  • Class 3 corrosion resistance
  • Aperture under 2 x 2mm, as used for ember protection

Important notes
For BAL-40 use, the screen assembly must be fixed with metal fixings. A rubber spline cannot be used in a BAL-40 installation. Cyclone lists the screen as non-combustible stainless steel with an aperture under 2 x 2mm, which is why it can be used up to BAL-40 under AS 3959-2018. Check with your building certifier for the requirements on your own project. The roll is supplied as screen mesh only, so the frame, spline and fixings are bought separately.
