Description
Cyclone Pro Foam Spline is a professional-grade foam-core spline for fitting flyscreen mesh into aluminium window and door frames, supplied here as a single 13 metre roll in the 5.7mm size. Its soft, high-compression core is designed to make re-screening quicker and easier than traditional ribbed spline, and it is made in Australia.
About the product
The foam core compresses as it is pressed into the frame groove, then springs back to grip the mesh firmly. Cyclone describes it as having good shape memory and high resistance to shrinkage, so the spline keeps holding the screen taut instead of loosening over time. It is also UV resistant, which supports a long working life on sun-exposed doors and windows. Cyclone says the compression characteristics allow installation about twice as fast as ribbed spline.
Where to use it
Indoors: re-screening the inside-facing channel of aluminium flyscreen doors and window frames, patio and sliding screen doors, and replacement screen panels.
Outdoors: sun-exposed insect screens on windows, doors and outdoor-area frames where UV resistance matters.
How to use it
- Remove the old spline and screen mesh from the frame groove, then clean out any dirt or debris.
- Lay the new mesh over the frame, leaving a small overhang all round.
- Press the foam spline into the groove over the mesh with a spline roller (sold separately), working steadily around the frame and keeping the mesh smooth and evenly tensioned.
- Take care at the corners so the spline seats fully without stretching or twisting.
- Trim off the excess mesh with a sharp knife and cut the spline to length.
Important notes
This size suits frames with a groove that matches the 5.7mm spline. Cyclone also offers a 5.0mm Pro Foam Spline, so check your existing spline or groove before buying. The pack contains the spline only. Flyscreen mesh and a spline roller are not included. Intended for fitting insect screening into aluminium extrusion frames.

Care and storage
Store the roll in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight until you are ready to use it. Keep the spline clean and free of dust and grit before installing so it seats properly in the groove. Wear gloves and eye protection when cutting mesh with a sharp knife, and keep blades out of reach of children.
